📋 Description

• • As an Engineering Manager Hands-on for the Subscription team at Back Market, you will lead a collaborative team of five engineers in building the company’s next growth engine: device protection and repair services via subscription plans, smart retention flows, and personalized experiences that extend device life and support the circular economy.
• • You will balance people management with hands-on technical contributions, including writing code, reviewing pull requests, making architecture decisions, managing technical debt, and mentoring team members through complex challenges while ensuring high standards of code quality and maintainability.
• • You will operate within Back Market’s Bureau of Technology (BoT), which oversees over 30 product teams and 10+ platform teams, working in an agile 'build it and run it' environment where teams own their services end-to-end, supported by cross-functional groups in security, backend, frontend, AI, and mobile.
• • You will drive team growth and effectiveness by establishing clear roadmaps that balance strategic initiatives with tactical experiments, fostering a culture of feedback, psychological safety, and continuous learning, while aligning engineering efforts with company-wide goals and promoting inclusivity and impact-driven work.
