- • Lead a team of employees and contractors focused on solving business problems using AI tools, driving innovation in Corporate IT’s AI-based future at Pinterest.
- • Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams and business leaders to develop seamless client experiences, architect data lake storage and metadata management technologies, and unlock big data and ML/AI innovations.
- • Mentor junior engineers, motivate the team to excel daily, and foster growth through technical leadership and people management.
- • Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, Legal, Sales, and Marketing to understand business challenges and deliver AI-powered solutions that improve speed, quality, and time to market.
- • Use AI to accelerate analysis, iteration, experimentation, and decision-making while maintaining rigorous validation, quality control, and ownership of outcomes.
- • Build scalable storage capabilities for large-scale ML/AI workloads, ensuring high-throughput data access, schema evolution, and efficient column backfills.
- • Operate in a flexible hybrid model requiring in-office collaboration 1-2 times per quarter, with remote eligibility across the U.S.
- • Contribute to Pinterest’s mission of inspiring creativity through AI-augmented innovation, where technology amplifies human potential and impact.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of experience leading and growing engineering teams with a strong hands-on background in Python.
- • 7+ years of industry experience designing, building, and operating scalable, highly available backend systems, including owning production-grade infrastructure at scale.
- • Proficiency in designing and delivering AI-based solutions that solve real-world business problems, particularly in Finance, Accounting, Legal, Sales, and Marketing contexts.
- • Experience with cloud infrastructure on AWS and containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes.
- • Demonstrated technical leadership and people management, including setting vision, mentoring engineers, driving execution, and partnering cross-functionally on high-impact platform investments.
- • Ability to use AI to accelerate team execution, system design, and decision-making, paired with sound judgment in validating outputs and maintaining quality.
