• • As an Engineering Manager for Infra/Edge at Deliveroo, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and safeguarding the global digital frontier of our operations. You will lead a dedicated team focused on the critical Edge infrastructure, which acts as the primary gateway for all north/south traffic entering and exiting Deliveroo's extensive global systems. This position is instrumental in ensuring the performance, unwavering reliability, and robust security of our services as they interact with millions of customers, riders, and partners worldwide.
• • Your leadership will extend to defining and executing the technical strategy for Deliveroo's Edge posture. This encompasses the strategic management and evolution of Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) such as Cloudflare and Fastly, sophisticated traffic management solutions, and essential network security patterns. You will be at the forefront of implementing and refining Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) mitigation strategies, creating a resilient shield against potential threats.
• • A core aspect of your role will be to drive the successful delivery of complex, high-impact projects. This involves meticulously setting priorities, decomposing ambitious initiatives into manageable, iterative deliverables, and ensuring their timely and high-quality execution. Given the high-blast-radius nature of Edge systems, your ability to manage dependencies and mitigate risks will be paramount to maintaining operational stability.

You will establish and uphold stringent standards for Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), implement sophisticated monitoring solutions, and champion low-noise alerting to minimize operational friction. Furthermore, you will lead incident response efforts, conduct thorough post-incident reviews, and drive the implementation of long-term preventative measures to enhance system resilience.

You will forge strong partnerships with Staff+ Engineers and leadership across Deliveroo, as well as with our counterparts at DoorDash and Wolt. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for aligning on architectural decisions, establishing consistent reliability standards, and optimizing global traffic routing strategies, leveraging the combined expertise of our integrated global organization.
• • The Edge team operates within the broader Foundations group, a critical component of Deliveroo's engineering organization.
