📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end vision, roadmap, and execution for Cato’s software infrastructure stack—spanning backend services, frontend frameworks, test automation, and developer productivity tooling—ensuring every line of code you influence supports a cloud-native, enterprise-grade SASE platform trusted by thousands of global organizations.
• • Recruit, mentor, and retain a world-class team of backend, frontend, QA automation, and DevEx engineers; build a culture of psychological safety, continuous feedback, and relentless technical excellence that turns ambitious graduates into industry thought-leaders and keeps senior architects energized and growing.
• • Partner daily with Product Management, Research, DevOps, and SRE to translate complex networking and security requirements into scalable, secure, and observable software designs; facilitate architecture reviews, threat-modeling sessions, and post-incident retrospectives that raise the bar for reliability and performance.
• • Drive the evolution of Cato’s build, test, and release pipelines—introducing next-gen CI/CD, container orchestration, policy-as-code, and automated quality gates—so that every commit reaches production safely within minutes, not hours, while meeting SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR compliance standards.
• • Champion infrastructure-as-code and platform self-service: empower 200+ R&D engineers to provision environments, spin up feature branches, and run canary deployments autonomously, cutting average lead time for new features by 40 % and freeing your team to focus on high-impact platform innovation.
• • Establish and track KPIs for system availability (target 99.99 %), build success rate (> 95 %), test coverage (> 85 %), and developer satisfaction (NPS > 60); present monthly dashboards to executive leadership, translating metrics into clear narratives that secure budget, headcount, and executive sponsorship for strategic initiatives.
• • Act as the technical evangelist for modern infrastructure practices—speaking at internal guilds, external meetups, and industry conferences—sharing how Cato leverages eBPF, Envoy, Kubernetes, and zero-trust principles to deliver a converged networking and security fabric at planetary scale.
• • Continuously scan the horizon for emerging tools and methodologies—whether it’s WebAssembly at the edge, AI-driven test generation, or policy engines like OPA—and run small, fast proof-of-concepts that de-risk adoption and keep Cato two steps ahead of competitors in the $25 B SASE market.
• • Foster cross-team collaboration through guilds, architecture decision records (ADRs), and internal tech talks; create reusable libraries, golden templates, and documentation that reduce duplicated effort and accelerate onboarding for new engineers joining from Tel Aviv, London, or remote locations worldwide.
• • Balance technical depth with business acumen: translate customer escalations, sales blockers, and market trends into quarterly OKRs, sprint plans, and staffing models that deliver measurable impact on revenue, churn, and customer NPS while keeping the team motivated and burnout-free.
