• • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Adyen Cloud Services (ACS) Team within the Platform Engineering organization in Bengaluru. This pivotal role is responsible for the core container orchestration and traffic management infrastructure that forms the bedrock of our global payment platform. As an Engineering Manager, you will be instrumental in defining and driving the technical strategy, cultivating a high-performing team, and shaping the future evolution of our platform to support Adyen's continued global expansion and massive growth.
• • Your primary responsibility will be to lead and grow a high-performing team of platform and infrastructure engineers. This includes overseeing day-to-day operations, strategic planning, talent acquisition, and fostering professional development for engineers based in Bengaluru, while ensuring seamless coordination with our other global tech hubs. You will be a key figure in nurturing a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within your team.
• • A significant aspect of this role involves bringing structure and process to our execution. You will be tasked with introducing and refining operational processes that enhance incident response, streamline change management, and ensure predictable, reliable delivery of our mission-critical infrastructure services. This focus on operational maturity is crucial for maintaining the stability and performance of our global payment systems.
• • You will foster a culture of technical excellence by driving globally optimized technical decisions. This involves a strong focus on automation, strategic partnerships with other engineering leads, and continuous evolution of our container orchestration, traffic management, and underlying infrastructure tooling. Your leadership will ensure our infrastructure is not only robust but also at the forefront of technological advancements.
• • Scaling for massive growth is a core objective. You will guide your team through significant platform modernization initiatives, enhance multi-region resilience, and drive architectural evolution. This includes owning the operational realities of our bare-metal infrastructure and datacenter dependencies, ensuring our systems can handle exponential increases in transaction volume and complexity.
• • You will integrate platform best practices across the board, ensuring that reliability, security, and observability are fundamental components of how our internal engineering teams consume infrastructure. The goal is to provide a seamless and efficient "golden path" for engineers, enabling them to deploy, manage, and operate their services with confidence and ease, thereby accelerating their development cycles and improving overall system health.
• • This role requires a leader who is comfortable with hands-on technical engagement when necessary. While primarily a management position, you will actively participate in technical discussions, guide your team towards sound architectural and operational decisions, and collaborate across infrastructure and development teams to diagnose and resolve complex issues. Your ability to bridge the gap between management and technical depth will be essential for success.
• • You will champion best practices in infrastructure management, ensuring our systems are not only performant and scalable but also secure and observable. This includes driving initiatives related to infrastructure-as-code, GitOps, and the automation of provisioning and lifecycle management, further solidifying our commitment to operational excellence and efficiency.
