• • Lead and inspire engineering teams to build mission-critical systems that are foundational to Coinbase Institutional's success, shaping the future of the crypto landscape.
• • Drive the end-to-end onboarding and activation journey for all institutional products, acting as the crucial first point of contact for the world's leading financial institutions engaging with Coinbase.
• • Collaborate closely with a diverse group of stakeholders, including engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership, to translate ambitious visions into a concrete, actionable roadmap.
• • Champion an iterative design and implementation process, adeptly breaking down complex projects into manageable components to ensure efficient and effective delivery.
• • Serve as a key technical voice within the team, contributing to strategic architectural decisions and fostering a robust culture of high-quality engineering practices and operational excellence.
• • Partner effectively with Product and other Engineering teams to guarantee the successful delivery and ongoing operation of complex, distributed systems designed for massive scale.
• • Mentor and coach direct reports, empowering them to make significant positive impacts on the organization and actively supporting their professional development and career growth.
• • Play an instrumental role in talent acquisition, working closely with the talent organization to identify, attract, and recruit exceptional engineers who not only possess the requisite technical skills but also align with Coinbase's unique culture and values.
• • Take ownership of and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes that enhance engineering quality and ensure adherence to critical engineering Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• • Tackle complex engineering challenges spanning onboarding workflows, data validation, document review, and the integration of third-party services.
• • Drive innovation by increasingly leveraging Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to build sophisticated automation solutions that streamline and enhance the institutional client experience.
• • Define and refine the processes that dictate how quickly and seamlessly leading global institutions can onboard onto Coinbase's suite of products, directly impacting the growth and reach of the institutional business.
• • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of systems that handle sensitive financial data and high-value transactions, upholding Coinbase's reputation as a trusted gateway in the cryptoeconomy.
• • Contribute to the development of features and platforms that enable institutional clients to trade, custody, stake, and participate in governance within the global cryptoeconomy.
• • Foster a collaborative and high-performance environment where engineers are encouraged to push boundaries, solve challenging problems, and contribute to building the infrastructure for the next generation of finance.
• • Manage the domain by closely partnering with product and cross-functional teams to design and deliver exceptional onboarding and growth experiences, ultimately unlocking measurable customer activation for the broader institutional business.
• • Maintain a balance between long-term strategic objectives and the immediate demands of short-term planning, ensuring both foundational strength and agile responsiveness.
• • Be prepared to be hands-on when necessary, whether it involves writing or reviewing code, contributing to technical documentation, participating in on-call rotations, leading incident response, or triaging and troubleshooting bugs, demonstrating a commitment to the team's success at all levels.
• • Drive the engineering strategy for the Onboarding & Growth team, ensuring alignment with Coinbase Institutional's overarching goals and the company's mission to increase economic freedom globally.
