Kraken, a leading force in the crypto space for over a decade, is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a critical cross-functional Consumer pod. This is a unique opportunity to shape the core experiences of Krak, our flagship consumer product, impacting a vast and growing global user base.
• As an Engineering Manager, you will be at the forefront of innovation, guiding a talented team of Frontend (React & React Native) and Backend (Rust) engineers. Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering seamless, performant, and intuitive user experiences across Kraken's primary consumer-facing platforms. You will own the end-to-end user journey for key Krak features, ensuring exceptional quality, technical excellence, and unwavering operational reliability.
• This role demands a blend of technical acumen, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of consumer product development. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to translate vision into reality, defining and delivering high-impact features that provide measurable business and customer value. Your ability to foster a collaborative environment and drive consensus across diverse teams will be crucial for success.
• You will be responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day execution of your pod, ensuring the delivery of robust and scalable applications. This includes championing engineering best practices, promoting maintainable architectures, and upholding rigorous code quality standards. Your commitment to continuous improvement will be key to elevating our engineering capabilities and ensuring Krak remains at the cutting edge of the industry.
• A significant aspect of this role involves mentoring and developing your team members. You will foster a culture of technical growth, encouraging knowledge sharing, collaboration, and inclusivity. By strengthening team organization and delivery through agile methodologies, project tracking, and the utilization of key engineering metrics (such as DORA and cycle time), you will optimize team performance and drive predictable, high-quality outcomes.
• The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading engineering teams that have successfully delivered customer-facing products at scale. Experience managing integrated frontend and backend engineering teams is essential, as is a deep technical understanding of React Native and modern frontend architectures. You should possess strong cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to effectively align frontend and backend efforts within a complex, multi-platform environment.
