  • • Join Alma as an Engineering Manager for the Merchant Experience team, a pivotal role based in Paris, with the flexibility of remote work. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of how merchants interact with our innovative payment solutions. This is a unique opportunity to lead a talented team of frontend and backend engineers dedicated to building and maintaining the complete ecosystem that powers the merchant journey with Alma. From the crucial initial stages of onboarding and compliance to their daily operational needs, in-store payment experiences, and performance management, your leadership will directly impact the success of our merchant partners.
  • • As the Engineering Manager, you will be at the forefront of developing mission-critical products that define the merchant-facing aspects of our platform. This role demands a blend of strong technical acumen, exceptional people management skills, and a proactive approach to cross-functional collaboration. Your primary objective will be to guide your team in delivering solutions that are not only high-quality and scalable but also exceptionally intuitive and user-friendly, ensuring a seamless experience for every merchant at every touchpoint.
  • • Your mission will involve tackling a diverse range of complex and impactful challenges. This includes architecting and implementing seamless merchant onboarding and Know Your Business (KYB) workflows, ensuring strict adherence to all regulatory compliance requirements. You will also be responsible for the continuous maintenance and evolution of our merchant and admin dashboards, transforming them into central hubs for efficient operations and insightful data analysis.
  • • A significant part of your role will be enabling cutting-edge in-store payment experiences through robust Point of Sale (POS) and Electronic Payment Terminal (EPT) integrations, empowering merchants to accept payments effortlessly in physical locations. Furthermore, you will drive the design and implementation of sophisticated merchant analytics and steering tools, equipping our partners with the data and insights needed to optimize their business performance and growth.
  • • You will oversee the development and refinement of robust role-based access control (RBAC) and user management systems, ensuring secure and efficient access for different user roles within merchant organizations. Optimizing performance, security, and the overall user experience across all merchant touchpoints will be a continuous focus, ensuring our platform remains reliable, secure, and a pleasure to use.
  • • Ultimately, your leadership will be key in enhancing the user experience to drive higher conversion rates for our merchants, making Alma the preferred partner for their payment needs. You will also be instrumental in optimizing the product for robust performance, ensuring that our systems can handle high volumes and complex transactions with speed and reliability.
  • • Key responsibilities include leading the design, development, and maintenance of the Merchant Dashboard and Admin Dashboard, ensuring they meet the highest standards of availability, scalability, and intuitive user experience for both merchants and our internal teams. You will also oversee the entire merchant lifecycle management process, from initial onboarding (including the Partner Onboarding API), through KYB workflows, legal agreement management, account configuration, and ultimately, the offboarding processes.
  • • You will champion best practices in software development, foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within your team, and collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other engineering teams to align on roadmaps and deliver exceptional product outcomes. Your ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and to mentor and grow your team members will be critical to your success and the success of the Merchant Experience team.
