  • • As the Engineering Manager for OpenAEV Integration at Filigran SAS, you will be a pivotal leader, serving as both the technical architect and the human pillar for a dynamic and innovative team. This role is uniquely designed for an individual who thrives in a hands-on environment, capable of driving strategic roadmaps in close collaboration with the product team while simultaneously contributing directly to the codebase on a daily basis. You will expertly balance the demands of direct coding contributions with the responsibilities of team leadership, setting the pace, establishing high standards, and charting the direction for your squad.
  • • Your core accountability will encompass owning the technical quality of the integrations developed by your team, fostering a positive and productive team environment, and ensuring the seamless execution of delivery. The team you will lead is responsible for building critical integrations that empower OpenAEV to simulate real-life attack scenarios. This involves connecting OpenAEV with a wide and diverse ecosystem of cybersecurity actors and platforms, thereby enhancing its capabilities and expanding its reach within the industry.
  • • A significant aspect of your role will be to cultivate and maintain the right mindset, energy, and overall well-being of your team members. This involves running structured, effective one-on-one meetings and annual performance reviews, working collaboratively with the Staff Engineer to champion the professional growth and career development of each individual. You will be instrumental in defining clear, actionable objectives and expectations for every team member, ensuring these are tightly aligned with their personal career paths and the overarching strategic goals of Filigran.
  • • Maintaining complete visibility over all ongoing tasks and their progress will be a constant requirement. You will be expected to proactively anticipate potential blockers, identify and surface risks at the earliest possible stage, and meticulously keep delivery timelines on track. This proactive approach is crucial for maintaining momentum and ensuring predictable outcomes.
  • • You will actively engage with the Product Management team, challenging their definitions, priorities, timing, and roadmap trade-offs. This collaborative yet assertive approach ensures that technical feasibility and delivery timelines are realistically considered, leading to more robust and achievable product strategies.
  • • A fundamental expectation of this role is to write, review, and merge code on a daily basis. This is not a secondary responsibility but a primary activity that demonstrates your commitment to the team's technical output and allows you to stay deeply connected to the codebase. Your code reviews will be meaningful and constructive, aimed at elevating the overall code quality and facilitating the growth of your teammates, going beyond mere superficial approvals.
  • • You will own technical deliverables end-to-end, working in tandem with your team. This encompasses the entire lifecycle from initial design and architecture conceptualization through to the final implementation and deployment. This holistic ownership ensures a deep understanding and control over the solutions being built.
  • • Furthermore, you will be encouraged to leverage cutting-edge AI tools and methodologies to significantly boost team productivity and overall impact. This includes actively contributing to the integration of AI capabilities into internal workflows, positioning Filigran at the forefront of technological innovation.
  • • You will report directly to the Engineering Director and collaborate closely with other Engineering Managers across the organization. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for ensuring the alignment of engineering practices, fostering a consistent team culture, and promoting the well-being of the global Software Engineering team.
  • • Your work will involve close partnerships with Product Management and Senior Engineers to facilitate accurate planning and maintain the optimal pace for your software team. Mentoring and guiding your team members in their career development will be a key aspect of your leadership, enabling them to shine and achieve their full potential at Filigran.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in Artificial Intelligence and its transformative applications within the cybersecurity domain. You should be comfortable working with and adeptly leveraging AI-powered tools, such as Large Language Models (LLMs), automation platforms, and AI coding assistants, to enhance workflows and boost productivity.
  • • A minimum of 3 years of experience in team management is required, with a strong preference for experience gained within a startup or scale-up environment, where agility and rapid growth are paramount.
  • • Exceptional technical skills are a must, backed by extensive experience as a Software Engineer, with a particular emphasis on Python proficiency. Prior experience within the cybersecurity field, including a solid understanding of our competitors and key partners, would be highly advantageous.
  • • You must be comfortable operating within a remote, async-first work environment, demonstrating strong autonomy, a sense of ownership, and a collaborative team spirit.
