• • As an Engineering Manager for the Risk Platform at Coinbase, you will be at the forefront of building and scaling the financial infrastructure that underpins the global onchain economy. Your mission will be to foster business growth by effectively managing financial risks that impact both Coinbase and its users, ensuring a secure and trustworthy environment.
• • You will be instrumental in developing and executing a comprehensive multi-year strategy for Payments Risk engineering. This involves close collaboration with a diverse group of cross-functional partners, including Machine Learning Engineers (MLE), Machine Learning Product Managers (MLP), and Risk Analysts, to create robust and innovative solutions.
• • A core aspect of your role will be to mentor and guide your team members. You will foster their professional growth and career development, empowering them to make significant contributions to the organization. This includes providing regular feedback, identifying development opportunities, and championing their successes.
• • You will provide strong technical leadership, guiding your team in making sound architectural decisions. Ensuring high engineering quality and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) will be paramount to maintaining the reliability and performance of our critical systems.
• • Partnering effectively with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership is crucial. You will translate the overarching vision into actionable quarterly roadmaps, ensuring alignment and efficient execution of strategic initiatives.
• • You will play a key role in talent acquisition, collaborating closely with the talent team to recruit and hire exceptional engineers. Your focus will be on bringing in individuals who not only possess strong technical skills but also enhance Coinbase's unique culture and product offerings.

This hands-on involvement may include writing or reviewing code, contributing to technical documentation, participating in on-call rotations, leading incident response, and troubleshooting bugs.
