Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead and inspire a distributed Shared Services engineering team that powers the backbone of Bluesight’s medication-intelligence platform, serving 2,000+ hospitals and health systems. You will own the vision, architecture, and delivery of reusable APIs, data pipelines, and integration services that enable every Bluesight product to deliver the right medicine to the right patient at the right time.
- • Spend 20-40 % of your time writing production-grade code—primarily Python FastAPI and Ruby on Rails—so you stay close to the technology, unblock your engineers, and model best practices. Your hands-on contributions will range from designing resilient AWS cloud infrastructure to optimizing MySQL queries that process millions of medication records daily.
- • Architect and evolve shared services that ingest, de-duplicate, and transform data from third-party systems (EHRs, drug databases, supply-chain feeds) into a single source of truth. You will ensure these services scale horizontally, meet sub-second latency SLAs, and maintain 99.9 % uptime under strict HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST compliance controls.
- • Establish and enforce API design guidelines that guarantee consistency, security, and developer happiness across all product teams. You will define versioning strategies, authentication patterns, and documentation standards so that any Bluesight engineer can integrate with shared services in minutes, not weeks.
- • Drive observability excellence by implementing comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting using AWS native tools (CloudWatch, X-Ray) and third-party platforms. You will set SLOs, error budgets, and on-call rotations that keep services healthy while minimizing pager fatigue.
- • Partner with Product, Security, and Customer Success leaders to translate complex regulatory and customer requirements into a prioritized technical roadmap. You will balance paying down technical debt, hardening security posture, and delivering new capabilities that unlock revenue growth.
- • Manage the full engineering lifecycle: quarterly planning, sprint rituals, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and post-incident retrospectives. You will continuously refine processes—adopting trunk-based development, automated testing gates, and progressive deployment strategies—to ship faster without sacrificing quality.
- • Hire, mentor, and retain top-tier remote talent across the continental United States. You will conduct behavioral and technical interviews, craft individual growth plans, and foster a culture of psychological safety where engineers take risks, learn from failures, and celebrate wins together.
- • Champion Bluesight’s core values—Get Stuff Done, Join Forces, Honor the Customer, Redefine Possible, and Have Fun—by modeling transparent communication, data-driven decisions, and customer empathy in every stand-up, design review, and all-hands meeting.
- • Act as the escalation point for high-severity incidents, working with SRE, Security, and Customer Support to restore service, communicate status, and lead blameless post-mortems that prevent recurrence. Your calm, decisive leadership under pressure will earn trust across the organization.
