We are seeking a motivated and experienced Engineering Team Lead to spearhead a talented team of 4 engineers, including a Senior Full Stack Developer. This pivotal role is instrumental in building and maintaining the robust web platforms that underpin our groundbreaking AI-powered full-body MRI cancer screening service. You will be a key player in ensuring our technology not only meets but exceeds the needs of our users, providing a seamless and reliable experience from screening to report delivery.
• • As an Engineering Team Lead, your responsibilities will be split approximately 50/50 between people leadership and delivery/technical leadership. This balanced approach ensures you have a significant impact on both the growth of your team members and the successful execution of critical product initiatives. You will foster a supportive and collaborative environment, empowering your team to achieve their full potential while driving the delivery of high-quality software.
• • In your people leadership capacity, you will directly manage your team of 4 engineers. This involves conducting regular one-on-one meetings, providing consistent coaching, and delivering actionable feedback to support their professional development. You will own the performance management process, including setting clear goals, facilitating career progression discussions, and identifying opportunities for growth through mentorship and development plans. A crucial aspect of this role is leading the hiring process for your team, which includes designing and executing structured interview loops and ensuring timely, constructive feedback is provided to all candidates.
• • On the delivery and execution front, you will be responsible for the end-to-end success of your team's projects. This includes overseeing team ceremonies, managing capacity planning, prioritizing work effectively, and maintaining clear communication with cross-functional stakeholders. You will ensure that all work is clearly defined through tickets and that ownership is established, translating ambiguity into crisp, actionable plans. Your ability to keep the team unblocked and aligned will be paramount to maintaining momentum and achieving project milestones.
• • Technical and operational leadership are also core components of this role. You will guide day-to-day technical design decisions and infrastructure choices for your team, collaborating closely with a Staff Engineer on larger, cross-cutting architectural designs and complex incident management. You will champion a culture of quality and release safety, implementing best practices such as comprehensive testing, feature flag rollouts, and robust monitoring and alerting systems. Ensuring the existence and maintenance of runbooks for common operational tasks and incident response will be a key responsibility. Furthermore, you will instill a sense of ownership within your team for the support and operational aspects of the domains they build, ensuring the reliability and stability of our platforms.
