đź“‹ Description

  • • Are you a seasoned Engineering Team Lead with a passion for building impactful products and a knack for nurturing engineering talent? Fundraise Up, a global leader in fundraising technology, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Lead to spearhead our vital Campaign Pages team.
  • • In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in guiding a talented group of 3-5 Fullstack developers in the creation and enhancement of one of Fundraise Up's core products: a sophisticated donation landing page. This isn't just any landing page; it's a complex, high-performance engine designed to maximize fundraising success for nonprofits worldwide.
  • • Our Campaign Pages product is engineered to handle a multitude of critical functionalities. It seamlessly integrates over a dozen payment methods, supports localization into more than 20 languages (including right-to-left scripts), manages intricate country-specific payment flows, and continuously optimizes performance through dozens of A/B tests annually. Your leadership will ensure this product remains at the forefront of fundraising technology.
  • • As a hands-on leader, you will strike a balance between strategic technical direction and practical execution. While approximately 70% of your time will be dedicated to management, mentorship, and strategic planning, you will also actively contribute to code reviews and technical design, maintaining your technical edge and understanding of the team's challenges.
  • • You will be responsible for the overall delivery of features, ensuring the team adheres to project deadlines and maintains high-quality standards. This includes owning the technical roadmap for the Campaign Pages team, managing technical debt, and meticulously maintaining the team's technical backlog.
  • • A key aspect of your role will be making critical technical decisions, architecting robust technical designs for new features, and ensuring these designs are well-aligned with the broader company architecture and product vision, collaborating closely with your manager and neighboring teams.
  • • You will foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team. This involves mentoring and developing individual engineers, conducting regular one-on-one meetings to support their growth, and actively participating in the onboarding process for new team members.
  • • Your leadership will extend to performance management, including conducting performance reviews and providing constructive feedback to help each team member reach their full potential.
  • • Fundraise Up is a fast-growing, global company with a mission to make donating seamless and accessible. Our technology powers tens of millions of dollars in donations monthly for renowned nonprofits like UNICEF and the Alzheimer's Association. We pride ourselves on innovation, focusing on aspects like faster load times, higher conversion rates, global payment support, and accessibility-first design.
  • • We operate an enterprise-grade product ecosystem, serving nonprofits across North America, the UK, Australia, and Europe. Our platform is a complex interplay of modern checkout experiences, customizable widgets (each a standalone SPA), donor portals, organization and partner portals, admin tools, and internal applications.
  • • Our technology stack is modern and robust, featuring Node.js (Koa, NestJS) and MongoDB on the backend, with Webpack, Vue.js, and React on the frontend, predominantly using TypeScript. For high-throughput messaging and background processing, we leverage Kafka and Bull (Redis), and our analytics are powered by ClickHouse, with Elasticsearch for search capabilities.
  • • You will join a distributed team of over 160 product professionals, including more than 80 engineers, primarily located across Europe and Armenia. We foster a culture of deep technical curiosity, knowledge sharing, and operate with the focus and agility of a smaller team, where every contribution is valued.
  • • This is an opportunity to lead a critical product within a company that is making a significant difference in the nonprofit sector, working with a talented, collaborative, and globally distributed team.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 10+ years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in a Team Lead or Engineering Manager role managing a team of 5-10 developers.
  • • Proven experience as a hands-on leader capable of writing code, making sound technical decisions, and designing systems thoughtfully.
  • • Strong people management skills, including hiring, coaching, giving feedback, and conflict resolution.
  • • Minimum of 3 years of Fullstack development experience.
  • • At least 5 years of experience in product companies working with TypeScript, Node.js, MongoDB, Kafka, and Redis.
  • • English proficiency at B2+ level, enabling confident discussion of technical topics.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • 31 days of paid time off annually.
  • • 100% paid telemedicine plan for comprehensive health support.
  • • Home Office Setup Assistance: financial support for essential home office furniture and equipment (office chair, desk, monitor).
  • • English learning courses to enhance language proficiency.
  • • Support for relevant professional education and development.
  • • Access to a gym or swimming pool membership.
  • • Co-working space membership options.
  • • Fully remote working arrangement.
