📋 Description

• The Enhanced Due Diligence Associate plays a critical role in safeguarding Robinhood’s platform by investigating potential money laundering and terrorist financing activities, directly supporting the company’s mission to democratize finance while ensuring regulatory compliance in an era of historic wealth transfer.
• This role is essential to maintaining trust and integrity in Robinhood’s financial ecosystem, as the Financial Crimes Team works to protect customers and uphold compliance with Sanctions, AML, BSA, OFAC, and Patriot Act regulations across broker-dealer and FinTech operations.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include investigating customer background information, behavioral patterns, and transactional data to detect suspicious activity indicative of money laundering or terrorist financing.
• Prepare detailed investigation reports that summarize findings, assess risk levels, and provide actionable recommendations for escalation or closure.
• Escalate high-priority or time-sensitive matters to management and lead discussions to ensure timely decision-making and appropriate risk mitigation.
• Identify inefficiencies in current processes and contribute to the design and implementation of improved procedures, controls, and workflows to enhance scalability, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Actively participate in team meetings, cross-departmental collaborations, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to stay current on evolving regulatory expectations and typologies.
• Robinhood’s Financial Crimes Team operates at the intersection of innovation and compliance, leveraging technology and human expertise to defend against financial crime in a rapidly evolving digital finance landscape.

• In this role, you will develop deep expertise in AML/EDD frameworks, regulatory expectations, and financial crime typologies specific to broker-dealer and FinTech environments.
• You will sharpen your analytical, investigative, and report-writing skills while gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard case management systems like Actimize.
• The position offers significant growth potential into senior compliance, investigations, or financial crimes leadership roles within Robinhood or the broader fintech and financial services sector.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of experience in EDD/CDD or AML compliance, with a focus on enhanced due diligence at a broker-dealer, FinTech company, or bank
• Proven experience using case management systems such as Actimize, CDD platforms, or similar tools
• Demonstrated knowledge of BSA, AML, USA Patriot Act, OFAC regulations, and privacy laws as they apply to financial institutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior management
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of managing multiple priorities, thinking critically, and pursuing root causes beyond surface-level answers
