- • Own the third-party events portfolio for OpenAI’s enterprise segment, including partner summits, industry conferences, sponsored events, and high-priority field activations.
- • Build and manage annual and quarterly planning processes that align third-party events with industry priorities, field and sales goals, partner opportunities, account targets, and pipeline needs.
- • Define strategic briefs for priority third-party events, clearly articulating the target audience, business objective, customer opportunity, desired action, and role of each event within the broader enterprise GTM motion.
- • Partner with Field Marketing, Industry Marketing, Events, Product Marketing, Content, technical teams, Comms, Design, Solutions, and Marketing Operations to translate event briefs into execution plans and follow-up motions.
- • Manage sponsorship strategy, event packages, vendor relationships, agencies, budgets, timelines, staffing models, and onsite execution in close collaboration with the Events team.
- • Develop scalable playbooks for different tiers of events, from major tentpole conferences to smaller industry-specific moments, ensuring consistent and efficient execution.
- • Create intake and prioritization criteria to determine which events to support, the required level of investment, and when to decline opportunities based on strategic alignment.
- • Partner with Marketing Operations to track and measure event performance, including pipeline impact, account engagement, meetings secured, opportunity progression, and post-event conversion rates.
- • Build and manage the resourcing model required to execute third-party events consistently at scale, including internal team capacity and external agency coordination.
- • Serve as the strategic briefer and cross-functional leader who connects sponsorships, field activations, partner moments, executive programs, account priorities, and post-event follow-through into a unified operating system.
- • Ensure OpenAI’s presence at external events is intentional, focused, and aligned with enterprise customer journeys and brand positioning.
- • Translate business priorities, industry context, and customer needs into clear, actionable event strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and pipeline growth.
- • Maintain a disciplined approach to event portfolio management, balancing scale with strategic focus to maximize ROI across a growing number of external touchpoints.
- • Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure event initiatives support overarching enterprise marketing and sales objectives.
- • Continuously refine event operating cadences, briefing processes, measurement models, and resourcing plans to improve efficiency and impact over time.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience in third-party events, strategic events, field events, event marketing, partner events, enterprise marketing, or adjacent B2B GTM roles.
- • Deep experience managing third-party events at scale, including major conferences, sponsorships, partner summits, industry events, and multi-stakeholder field activations.
- • Experience owning large event portfolios with complex budgets, vendors, agencies, executive stakeholders, and cross-functional dependencies.
- • Strong audience and GTM judgment, with the ability to translate business priorities, industry context, and customer needs into clear event briefs.
- • Experience partnering with Field Marketing, Industry Marketing, Events, Product Marketing, Content, demo or technical teams, Comms, Design, Solutions, and Marketing Operations.
- • Evidence of building or scaling a team, agency model, or operating system around events.
