📋 Description

• Lead the Engineering team responsible for the DrChrono EMR application within EverHealth’s Clinical and Regulatory product engineering team, focusing on enhancing user experiences and delivering cutting-edge features for independent healthcare practices.
• Mentor, coach, and develop engineering talent through hiring, performance management, feedback, and continuous growth initiatives, fostering a culture of kindness, inclusion, diversity, ownership, and accountability.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of high-quality software solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and technical roadmaps that support rapid iteration and AI-driven innovation in healthcare technology.
• Collaborate closely with product management, design, and cross-functional stakeholders to coordinate communication, align priorities, and ensure successful product delivery across distributed teams.
• Design and oversee the architecture of scalable, secure, and compliant healthcare systems, with deep understanding of platform-level enabling services and integration patterns critical to EMR/EHR ecosystems.
• Apply strong computer science fundamentals to select appropriate algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and data storage technologies, ensuring adherence to coding, testing, deployment, security, and regulatory best practices.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare data security and privacy standards, translating complex regulatory requirements into technical implementation strategies.
• Leverage expertise in EMR/EHR data models and industry specifications including HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, SNOMED CT, CPT Codes, and EDI to guide system design and interoperability efforts.
• Utilize full-stack development experience with technologies such as Python, Java, C#, Go, Rust, JavaScript, REST, HTTP, JSON, APIs, RDBMS, Django, MariaDB, Aurora, and SQL to evaluate technical solutions and guide engineering decisions.
• Support hybrid mobile application development using React, Ionic, or similar frameworks for iOS and Android platforms, ensuring seamless patient and practice engagement experiences.
• Implement and champion Agentic AI coding practices and methodologies (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) to enhance developer productivity and code quality across the engineering team.
• Coach teams in Agile software development methodologies and continuously improve engineering processes to increase delivery velocity, quality, and team performance through measurable KPIs and metrics.
• Manage geographically distributed engineering teams across U.S. time zones, ensuring effective collaboration, alignment, and execution in a high-growth, dynamic environment.
• Demonstrate a proven track record of working within professionalized product delivery operations, driving projects to completion with a “get it done” attitude and strong initiative.
• Maintain deep fluency in software development lifecycles and stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in healthcare IT to lead innovation and strategic evolution of the DrChrono platform.
• Balance technical depth with leadership acumen—knowing what to build, what not to build, and how to resolve complex technical challenges while maintaining focus on execution and measurable outcomes.
• Lead with resilience and adaptability in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, embodying passion for technology, teamwork, and transforming the healthcare industry through software.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing healthcare technology-focused engineering teams
• Experience designing and building platform-level “enabling” services for EMR/EHR systems
• Deep familiarity with healthcare data standards: HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, SNOMED CT, CPT Codes, EDI
• 5+ years in software development at increasing levels of scope and leadership
• Fluency in Agentic AI coding practices (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor)
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
