📋 Description

• EverHealth, a division of EverCommerce, powers software for tens of thousands of healthcare practices across EHRs, revenue cycle management, patient communications, and clinical workflows, and is seeking a Software Architect IV to lead the architectural evolution of its portfolio as it modernizes systems and integrates AI-driven capabilities to improve provider productivity and patient outcomes.
• This role is pivotal in shaping the technical direction of EverHealth’s diverse SaaS product suite—including DrChrono, iSalus, CollaborateMD, Updox, eProviderSolutions, AlertMD, and MD Coder—by aligning scalable, secure, and interoperable architecture with business goals across a platform serving 72,000+ healthcare practices.
• Day to day, the Software Architect IV will lead architectural strategy by defining and evolving technical architecture across the EverHealth product portfolio, translating business goals into technical roadmaps, and guiding platform modernization efforts focused on scale, AI adoption, system interoperability, and platform capabilities.
• They will drive scalable platform design by architecting secure, highly available distributed systems, establishing patterns for performance and resilience, and guiding teams in adopting modern patterns such as API-first, event-driven, and microservices architectures.
• They will enable healthcare interoperability by designing systems that support FHIR and HL7 standards, ensuring architectural approaches meet regulatory expectations and healthcare data compliance requirements.
• They will lead AI-forward innovation by helping integrate AI and machine learning into core workflows, partnering with teams to leverage LLMs and automation, and ensuring AI implementations are secure, scalable, and aligned with customer needs.
• They will provide technical leadership by partnering with existing architects and principal engineers, facilitating design reviews, mentoring senior engineers in system design, and helping teams align on shared architectural patterns and platform capabilities.
• They will partner across the organization with Product, Engineering, Security, and Operations leaders, participate in strategic planning and roadmap development, and ensure architecture decisions align with customer needs, regulatory requirements, and business priorities.
• The technology environment includes AWS cloud infrastructure, API-first and event-driven architectures, REST/FHIR/HL7/EDI integrations, primary languages in Python, Java, and .NET (VB/C#), and data platforms spanning MySQL, Postgres, MSSQL, and Redshift, all under HIPAA-compliant security and compliance frameworks.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with proficiency in .NET and T-SQL
• 5+ years in a software architecture role, with prior experience as a staff engineer, principal engineer, or senior architect strongly preferred
• Deep experience designing cloud-native systems on AWS, including distributed systems, API architecture, event-driven systems, data architecture, and reliability engineering
• Experience influencing architectural decisions across multiple teams or product lines, with demonstrated ability to lead design reviews and mentor senior engineers
• Strongly preferred: Experience with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, EDI) and healthcare billing, clearinghouses, or payer integrations
• Experience applying AI and LLM technologies within software products, including leveraging AI for operations and developer productivity
