• • As a Senior Software Architect, you will be entrusted with defining and championing the architectural direction for our POS platform, encompassing multiple product domains and engineering teams. This involves a strategic partnership with Product Management, Engineering leadership, and executive stakeholders to ensure that our architectural blueprints are intrinsically linked to the overarching business strategy and our ambitious long-term objectives. Your expertise will be critical in proactively identifying and driving the resolution of complex, cross-cutting architectural concerns, including but not limited to, enhancing system scalability to accommodate exponential growth, bolstering reliability to ensure uninterrupted service, fortifying security to protect sensitive data, and optimizing operability for seamless management and maintenance.
• • You will play a key role in establishing, maintaining, and evolving a comprehensive set of architectural standards, guiding principles, and best practices that will permeate throughout the engineering organization. This includes leading rigorous architectural reviews for all major new initiatives and significant technology investments, ensuring that proposed solutions adhere to our architectural tenets and strategic vision. A core responsibility will be to meticulously evaluate architectural tradeoffs, providing clear, data-driven guidance to facilitate informed decision-making with a steadfast focus on long-term system viability and product success.
• • Identifying and mitigating systemic technical risks will be a paramount duty. You will proactively hunt for potential vulnerabilities and architectural weaknesses, then spearhead the development and implementation of robust mitigation strategies. Furthermore, you will serve as a crucial mentor, guiding and developing the architectural acumen of our Software Architects, Staff Engineers, and senior engineers. This mentorship will focus on cultivating sophisticated architectural thinking, promoting best practices in system design, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• • Facilitating productive cross-team design discussions and driving consensus on technical direction will be essential for maintaining architectural coherence and accelerating development velocity. You will also be called upon to provide critical architectural guidance during complex production incidents, leveraging your deep understanding of the system to expedite resolution and prevent recurrence. Your influence will extend to strategic planning, roadmap discussions, and technical governance forums, where you will represent the architectural perspective and advocate for sound technical investments.
