- • As a System Architect at Harmattan AI, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of autonomous defense. This is a pivotal role where you will own the end-to-end architecture, system definition, and strategic implementation for our entire portfolio of robotic systems. Your influence will span from long-term strategic vision to the intricacies of field deployment, requiring close collaboration with executive leadership and technical leads. You will form a critical partnership with the Product Manager to ensure seamless integration and operational efficiency. This role is central to driving strategic programs in critical areas such as Anti-drone warfare, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), strike systems, equipment fusion (with a particular emphasis on aeronautics), and Command and Control (C2) systems enhanced by Artificial Intelligence (IA).
- • Your primary responsibility will be System-of-Systems Design & Strategy. This involves translating complex strategic goals into comprehensive, global system-of-systems designs. You will be responsible for defining, articulating, and championing the overarching system architecture strategy across the entire enterprise, ensuring alignment with our ambitious mission objectives and future growth.
- • A crucial aspect of this role is Architectural Sizing & Verification. You will ensure that all developed systems not only meet defined operational needs but are also correctly sized for optimal performance and scalability. This will be achieved through rigorous verification of scope, conducting complex system-of-systems simulations, and precise system sizing, thereby guiding major technical investments and resource allocation.
- • You will provide essential Coordination and Technical Leadership. This involves orchestrating large, multidisciplinary engineering organizations, offering overarching technical direction and guidance across diverse design efforts. These efforts span mechanical, electrical, software, Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC), Machine Learning (ML), and product development teams. Your leadership will ensure the long-term performance, robustness, and strategic reliability of our systems across the enterprise.
- • Furthermore, you will govern Specification & Integration processes. This includes establishing and maintaining system integration standards and validation processes. You will contribute significantly to the complex process of specification management, ensuring all architectural prerequisites are met and driving multi-system architecture reviews to maintain enterprise design consistency and coherence.
- • A commitment to Continuous Improvement is vital. You will be tasked with implementing and institutionalizing processes that enhance requirements traceability, elevate system documentation standards, and refine validation workflows across the entire engineering organization, fostering a culture of ongoing enhancement and learning.
- • This role demands a strategic mindset, exceptional analytical skills, and a mission-driven approach. You will leverage your expertise in strategic requirements engineering and high-level trade-off analysis to make critical decisions that impact the direction and success of our product portfolio.

- • Finally, your exceptional communication and presentation skills, coupled with proficiency in technical documentation, will be crucial for effectively conveying complex technical information to both technical teams and executive audiences, ensuring clarity and alignment at all levels.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of experience in system engineering or architecture, with a significant portion of that time spent in a senior or lead role, demonstrating progressive responsibility and expertise.
- • MSc in Engineering (any field); a PhD is considered a strong plus, indicating advanced academic and research capabilities.
- • Mandatory experience in the defense sector, with a significant advantage for candidates possessing experience with drones.
- • Strong knowledge in at least one of the following specializations: C2 (Command and Control) & AI, ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance), Strike UAV, loitering munitions, Anti-drone warfare, or UAV equipments & fusion.
- • Proven expertise in defining and leading the full lifecycle of complex, multi-system, and system-of-systems architectures, from conception through deployment and sustainment.
- • Strategic, analytical, and mission-driven mindset with demonstrated expertise in strategic requirements engineering and high-level trade-off analysis.
- • Deep engineering understanding across mechanical, electrical, embedded, and enterprise software systems, enabling a holistic approach to system design.
- • Experience coordinating large, multi-disciplinary engineering organizations and managing complex technical/strategic interfaces, showcasing leadership and collaboration skills.
- • Exceptional communication, presentation, and technical documentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical and executive audiences.
