- • Seeking current or former Chief Marketing Officers who have served as the top marketing executive at large-scale organizations, preferably publicly traded companies with $1B+ in annual revenue.
- • Candidates should have significant leadership experience within Financial Services, Technology, Insurance, Pharmaceuticals, Large Hospital Systems, or Manufacturing environments and a proven track record of leading substantial marketing organizations and driving enterprise growth and transformation.
- • Gartner is seeking accomplished current or former Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs) who have served as the top marketing executive for large, complex organizations and led substantial global or enterprise-wide marketing teams.
- • Ideal candidates will have CMO experience within one or more of the following industries: Banking, Investment Banking, Insurance, Wealth Management, Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Large Hospital Systems / Healthcare Providers, Manufacturing.
- • Candidates should have led marketing organizations at publicly traded or large-scale enterprises, preferably with $1B+ in annual revenue, and possess deep expertise in developing and executing enterprise marketing strategies, building high-performing teams, driving transformation initiatives, and influencing business growth at the executive level.
- • The Executive Partner (EP) role serves as a trusted advisor to our senior-most marketing executive clients and delivers exceptional value by orchestrating the full capabilities of Gartner—including insights, analysts, conferences, and peer networking—to help member clients achieve their critical business objectives.
- • Executive Partners work closely with clients to define, develop, prioritize, and evaluate marketing strategies and initiatives; strengthen organizational capabilities; assist with the development and execution of a compelling marketing vision; leverage Gartner insights to support key business initiatives; and serve as a trusted advisor to CMOs, EVPs, and SVPs of Marketing.
- • Through this partnership, clients are able to achieve their goals more quickly, more cost-effectively, and with a higher likelihood of success.
- • The EP must be a senior business executive with demonstrated expertise in developing and delivering enterprise marketing strategy, execution, transformation, and performance improvement.
- • The ideal candidate will be an accomplished current or former Chief Marketing Officer, EVP of Marketing, or SVP of Marketing who has served as the highest-ranking marketing executive within their organization.
- • Candidates must have a proven track record of leading large, complex marketing organizations and driving meaningful business impact through marketing leadership.
- • Particular interest will be given to executives who have held senior marketing leadership roles within: Investment Banking, Banking, Insurance, Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Large Hospital Systems / Healthcare Organizations, Manufacturing.
- • The EP is responsible for helping retain clients in accordance with Gartner retention metrics while also partnering closely with Sales to support growth opportunities and client acquisition efforts.
- • The Executive Partner position requires 10+ years of experience serving as a Chief Marketing Officer, EVP of Marketing, SVP of Marketing, or equivalent senior marketing executive leadership role; or 5+ years in one of these roles combined with 5+ years in another senior marketing executive capacity.
- • Substantial experience serving as the highest-ranking marketing executive and leading sizable, enterprise-scale marketing organizations.
- • Deep understanding of the Marketing function and the role of the CMO, including leadership, strategy, organizational design, operations management, performance measurement, and emerging trends.
- • Strong understanding of the relationship between business strategy and marketing strategy and the ability to guide executive leaders in aligning the two.
- • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex client situations and provide actionable, outcome-based business guidance.
- • Ability to lead and manage ambiguity in executive environments.
- • Exceptional interpersonal, facilitation, presentation, and communication skills, with experience advising C-level executives.
- • Demonstrated executive presence, strong listening skills, humility, and the ability to adapt to diverse client needs.
- • Sales acumen and the ability to support business development activities with senior executives.
- • Strong collaboration, team leadership, and project management capabilities.
