  • • Serve as a Family Mentor on a multidisciplinary care team to support caregivers of patients receiving virtual eating disorder treatment at Equip.
  • • Deliver skills-based individual and group sessions to caregivers, focusing on evidence-based approaches including Family-Based Treatment, Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for ARFID.
  • • Proactively identify and address barriers to treatment adherence by engaging caregivers through motivational strategies and personalized support.
  • • Monitor caregiver adherence to care plans and complete program elements, ensuring consistent engagement and retention in treatment.
  • • Conduct proactive outreach via phone and messaging to recover missed appointments, send reminders, track engagement, and provide ongoing support.
  • • Collaborate with therapists, dietitians, and physicians in multidisciplinary treatment huddles to align on patient progress and care plan adjustments.
  • • Guide caregivers in developing coping-ahead strategies to anticipate and manage challenges in daily life related to eating disorder recovery.
  • • Personalize care plans by coordinating additional services such as scheduling extra care team sessions, registering for support groups, preparing customized grocery lists, and referring tailored resources.
  • • Assist caregivers in creating advocacy-related documentation, including 504 Plan accommodation request letters for school or workplace settings.
  • • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all caregiver interactions in compliance with Equip’s policies and clinical standards.
  • • Manage an availability calendar to allow caregivers to schedule appointments and ensure consistent access to support.
  • • Attend mandatory internal meetings including supervision, treatment huddles, labs, and all-hands sessions on a weekly basis.
  • • Participate in initial and ongoing training programs on Equip’s evidence-based treatment modalities and coaching techniques.
  • • Build trusting, respectful relationships with caregivers from diverse backgrounds, fostering open communication and emotional safety.
  • • Work remotely with consistent availability during Pacific Standard Time (PST) business hours, including evenings until 8pm two nights per week.
  • • Commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week of direct patient care after 2pm in the patient’s time zone, totaling 33 hours weekly of direct care responsibilities.
  • • Operate standard office technology, including video conferencing tools, and remain on camera during all client and team interactions.
  • • Navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving virtual care environment while maintaining high standards of care and compliance.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 2+ years of experience working with families or supports in a healthcare setting (e.g., coaching, case management, mentorship, social work, or milieu therapy)
  • • Lived experience as an eating disorder support for a loved one in firm/stable recovery
  • • Ability to connect with diverse individuals across varying lived experiences and cultural backgrounds
  • • Strong oral and written communication skills with proven ability to build professional, collaborative relationships
  • • Comfortable working remotely with consistent access to reliable internet and willingness to be on camera during all interactions
  • • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail and ability to meet goals in a fast-paced environment

  • • Base pay range of $54,000 to $65,000 + 15% annual performance-based bonus potential
