- • Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to federal financial reporting and compliance activities
- • Interpret and implement Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-136 Financial Reporting requirements and associated bulletins and circulars
- • Utilize the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL) to ensure accurate financial data posting and reporting
- • Analyze and reconcile Treasury reporting systems including GTAS, DATA Act reports, and SF-133 Report on Budget Execution and Budgetary Resources
- • Apply Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Government Auditing Standards (GAS) in financial review and audit preparation
- • Reference and advise on Financial Audit Manual (FAM) concepts and federal financial best practices, including TFM and USSGL guidance
- • Conduct tie-point analysis and investigate abnormal financial balances to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
- • Analyze USSGL posting logic to detect and resolve posting errors and compliance issues
- • Work within an Agile environment, participating in sprints, stand-ups, and iterative financial process improvements
- • Learn and apply Momentum Financials system functionality to analyze, configure, reconcile, and resolve financial report discrepancies
- • Provide expert-level guidance on federal financial accounting processes including General Ledger, Budgeting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and financial reporting
- • Collaborate independently and within teams to resolve complex financial issues while adhering to strict federal deadlines
- • Manage multiple shifting priorities with precision and efficiency to meet tight reporting and audit timelines
- • Adjust work schedule as needed to ensure timely completion of critical financial deliverables
🎯 Requirements
- • U.S. citizenship with ability to pass a Tier 2 MBI background investigation upon hire
- • 5 years of experience working with Federal Financial/Accounting practices or Momentum Financials front-end and preferably database
- • Knowledge of federal financials processes such as General Ledger, Budgeting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and financial reporting
- • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and oral communication skills
- • Ability to work both independently and with a team to solve problems
- • Flexibility to put in hours needed to meet tight deadlines
