- • Perform preventative maintenance on mission-critical digital mobile communication systems to ensure optimal operation, with detailed documentation and trend analysis of results.
- • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to software-driven electronics, RF systems, and broadband communication infrastructure.
- • Optimize, test, and maintain advanced public safety communication systems including transmitters, receivers, antenna networks, and packet-switched networks.
- • Install, configure, and maintain wired and wireless communication systems, including LANs, WANs, routers, switches, firewalls, and cabling infrastructure.
- • Provide technical support for logging, recording, and RF interface systems used in public safety and government operations.
- • Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and Customer Service teams to deliver solutions that exceed customer expectations.
- • Deliver weekly activity reports detailing tasks completed, issues resolved, and system performance metrics.
- • Apply knowledge of standard telephony, dedicated data circuits, and networking protocols to ensure seamless system functionality.
- • Maintain proficiency in the latest communication technologies through continuous training and certification programs.
- • Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong self-management and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
- • Interact professionally with government customers, subcontractors, and internal teams, applying strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- • Respond rapidly to critical system failures during emergency or high-stress situations to ensure uninterrupted public safety communications.
- • Travel up to 30% of the time to customer sites located in northern New York, primarily within Essex County and surrounding areas.
- • Adhere to all security protocols, including compliance with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy.
- • Maintain accurate records of system configurations, repairs, and maintenance activities in accordance with government and corporate standards.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of experience in LMR, RF systems, radio communications, telecommunications, IT systems, networking equipment, or military service
- • Must be able to obtain and maintain government background clearance, including a fingerprint-based criminal history check
- • Current, valid driver’s license with no traffic violations
- • Must reside in northern New York or be willing to commute to Essex County, New York
- • Legal authorization to work indefinitely in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
- • 2-year Associate Degree in Electronics or IT (preferred) or equivalent on-the-job experience
