Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Be the on-the-ground hero for surgeons and hospital teams across the greater Chicago region as you install, inspect, and calibrate PROCEPT’s groundbreaking AquaBeam robotic system—technology that is literally giving men their lives back by eliminating the pain and risk of traditional BPH surgery.
- • Own the entire service lifecycle: from un-crating a brand-new console in the OR to performing precision preventive maintenance at 2 a.m. when a case is on the schedule—your hands and mind ensure 99.9 % uptime and flawless performance.
- • Diagnose complex electro-mechanical, fluidics, and software anomalies on the fly, leveraging oscilloscopes, multimeters, proprietary diagnostics, and your own ingenuity; document root-cause findings in Salesforce Field Service to build a living knowledge base that helps the next rep solve issues in minutes, not hours.
- • Partner shoulder-to-shoulder with R&D, Manufacturing, QA, Sales, and Clinical teams during beta-site launches, feeding real-world data back to engineers so the next-generation catheter is 15 % more reliable and 20 % easier for nurses to load.
- • Train biomedical technicians, OR staff, and distributor partners through interactive workshops, quick-start videos, and live troubleshooting sessions—turning hesitant users into confident champions who request PROCEPT by name.
- • Provide calm, clear remote support via phone, Zoom, and AR headsets during high-stress surgical cases, guiding a circulator nurse through a calibration step while the surgeon and patient wait—your voice and expertise de-escalate tension and save the day.
- • Maintain an ISO 13485-compliant service truck stocked with critical spares, calibrated tools, and up-to-date documentation; conduct quarterly self-audits that exceed FDA and Joint Commission standards and keep our Quality Management System spotless.
- • Track customer success KPIs—mean time to repair, first-time fix rate, NPS—then present actionable insights to regional leadership, influencing everything from parts forecasting to next year’s service contract pricing.
- • Travel up to 75 % across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana, often leaving at dawn and returning the same night; manage your own schedule, expenses, and customer relationships like a true entrepreneur while still enjoying the backing of a rapidly scaling public company.
- • Champion safety and compliance by completing EHS training, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and radiation safety checks; model best practices so every hospital sees PROCEPT as the gold standard for robotic service excellence.
- • Immerse yourself in a culture that celebrates curiosity, ingenuity, and “pathological optimism”; attend quarterly town halls where you’ll hear directly from the CEO how your last field report helped shave 30 seconds off a critical surgical step.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years servicing electro-mechanical or medical capital equipment, with an Associate’s degree in biomedical, electronics, or engineering technology (or equivalent military training)
- • Ability to travel up to 75 % by car and air across the Midwest, residing within one hour of Chicago O’Hare or Midway airports
- • Demonstrated troubleshooting chops—multimeters, oscilloscopes, fluidics, software logs—and a track record of >90 % first-time fix rates
- • Clear, concise communication skills: you can explain a calibration sequence to a night-shift biomed or present reliability data to a C-suite audience without breaking a sweat
- • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (Citizen or Permanent Resident)
🏖️ Benefits
- • Total cash compensation of $70 k–$88 k plus 10 % annual performance bonus and equity/RSUs that grow with our stock price
- • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage from day one, plus on-site gym and wellness programs to keep you mission-ready
- • 401(k) with generous company match, short- and long-term disability, basic life, and paid parental leave so your family is protected
- • Flexible PTO and paid holidays, because we believe in work-life blend, not just balance
