  • As a Finance Controller at Goodstack LLC, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our Foundation partners. This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly expanding social impact SaaS company, backed by prominent investors like General Catalyst, and contribute to a world where doing good is seamlessly integrated into business operations.
  • You will serve as the primary financial liaison for our Foundation partners, which are Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) utilizing a donor-advised fund model. Your core responsibility will be to ensure these Foundations operate with the highest standards of financial accuracy, compliance, and reporting.
  • This role demands a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can manage complex financial operations across multiple jurisdictions. You will be the key point of contact for Trustees and the Foundation Company Secretary, providing them with clear, accurate, and timely financial insights.
  • A significant aspect of your role will involve overseeing and managing relationships with external accounting and tax firms located in the UK, US, Australia, Ireland, Canada, and India. You will ensure these partners deliver services that meet the specific needs of our Foundations and adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining a deep understanding of diverse accounting standards, including IFRS, GAAP, and US GAAP, across these various jurisdictions. This knowledge is crucial for ensuring all financial activities are compliant and accurately reported.
  • Collaboration is key in this position. You will work closely with internal teams such as Nonprofit Operations and Payment Operations, as well as external professional service providers including accounting, tax, and legal firms.
  • Your responsibilities will extend to overseeing the month-end closing processes, working in tandem with external accountants to resolve queries and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • You will lead the preparation of annual accounts, coordinating with external providers to meet agreed-upon timelines and the expectations of the Trustees.
  • A critical function will be ensuring the timely and accurate submission of annual returns to regulatory bodies such as the Charity Commission (UK), Inland Revenue Services (USA), Canadian Revenue Agency, and the Charity Regulator Authority in Ireland. You will also provide ad-hoc support to the Chairman for the Australian Charities and Nonprofit Commissioners.
  • You will be granted access to all bank accounts and payment platforms, responsible for monitoring balances and providing statements of accounts upon request from various client partners.
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely reconciliation of all transactions is a fundamental duty, maintaining the integrity of financial records.
  • You will oversee the prompt payment of suppliers, ensuring all payments are correctly recorded and reconciled in a timely manner.
  • This role offers the potential for involvement in Goodstack’s broader financial activities, such as Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), for those with an interest in expanding their scope.
  • You will attend quarterly board meetings with Trustees, preparing and distributing financial reports in advance, accompanied by insightful commentary.
  • Your analytical skills will be vital in identifying trends, potential risks, and opportunities within the financial data of the Foundations, enabling informed decision-making.
  • You will contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and workflows, driving efficiency and accuracy across all operations.
  • This position is ideal for a qualified accountant seeking to make a significant impact within a mission-driven organization, leveraging their expertise to support charitable initiatives on a global scale.
  • By ensuring robust financial governance, you will directly contribute to Goodstack's mission of revolutionizing how the world does good, facilitating billions in donations to worthy causes and empowering global enterprises to give, volunteer, and fund with confidence.
  • You will be instrumental in maintaining the trust and confidence of our Foundation partners, donors, and the wider nonprofit sector through impeccable financial stewardship.
  • This role offers a dynamic environment where you can apply your accounting expertise to a socially conscious business model, contributing to tangible positive change in the world.
  • You will be a key player in scaling our financial operations as Goodstack continues its rapid growth trajectory, ensuring that our commitment to transparency and accountability remains paramount.
  • The opportunity to work with a diverse range of global brands and thousands of nonprofits, including well-known organizations like the Red Cross, Cancer Research, and Oxfam, provides a unique and rewarding professional experience.
  • You will be part of a team that is passionate about making a difference, working collaboratively to achieve ambitious goals and drive innovation in the social impact space.
