This pivotal role will be instrumental in managing our financial operations, collaborating closely with external accounting partners, and driving key financial processes including budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and comprehensive reporting across our multi-entity structure, encompassing operations in the U.S. and India.
- • **Key Responsibilities:**
- • **Financial Reporting and Oversight:**
- • Take ownership of the monthly financial reporting cycle, meticulously reviewing financial statements provided by external accounting firms for all operational entities.
- • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all financial data, proactively identifying and flagging any discrepancies.
- • Act as the primary point of contact with external accounting partners, coordinating efforts to resolve any identified issues promptly and efficiently.
- • Prepare concise and insightful summary financial updates for senior leadership, highlighting key performance indicators and financial health.
- • **Accounts Payable (AP) Management:**
- • Oversee and approve the processing of all vendor payments across all entities, ensuring adherence to company policies and financial controls.
- • Manage and nurture vendor relationships, maintaining clear communication regarding payment terms and expectations.
- • Guarantee the timely and accurate processing of all incoming invoices and expense reimbursements, minimizing delays and ensuring smooth operational flow.
- • Collaborate with external accounting firms to ensure accurate recording of AP transactions in the general ledger.
- • **Cash Management and Forecasting:**
- • Continuously monitor the weekly cash positions across our U.S., India, and UAE entities, providing real-time visibility into liquidity.
- • Develop and maintain detailed weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts, projecting inflows and outflows with a high degree of accuracy.
- • Closely track cash burn rates and forecast runway projections, providing critical insights into financial sustainability.
- • Proactively alert leadership to potential cash needs or shortfalls, enabling timely strategic decision-making.
- • **Budgeting and Forecasting:**
- • Play a key role in supporting the annual budgeting process, actively gathering essential financial inputs from department heads and stakeholders.
- • Assist in the construction of the comprehensive annual budget, encompassing revenue targets, expense allocations, headcount planning, and cash flow projections.
- • Update and refine monthly and quarterly rolling forecasts based on evolving business conditions and performance data.
- • Conduct regular tracking of budget versus actual performance, preparing detailed variance reports with insightful analysis.
- • **Management Information Systems (MIS) Reporting and Analytics:**
- • Prepare and distribute monthly MIS reports tailored for senior leadership, providing a clear overview of financial performance.
- • Develop and maintain dynamic dashboards visualizing key performance metrics, including Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), burn rate, and runway.
- • Track and analyze department-level expenses, identifying trends and areas for potential optimization.
- • Calculate and monitor critical SaaS metrics such as Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Lifetime Value (LTV), and gross margin.
- • Build and execute ad-hoc financial analyses as requested by leadership to support strategic initiatives.
- • **Investor Reporting and Support:**
- • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly board decks and investor updates, ensuring all financial information is accurate and well-presented.
- • Compile and organize financial data required for investor presentations and due diligence processes.
- • Maintain an up-to-date and organized investor data room, housing all current financial statements and relevant documentation.
- • Provide crucial financial materials and support for ongoing and future fundraising activities.
- • **Equity Compensation (ESOP) Administration:**
- • Manage the day-to-day administration of the Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP), including tracking grants, exercises, and vesting schedules.
- • Collaborate closely with the HR department on the equity components of new employee offers and compensation packages.
- • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company's capitalization table (cap table).
- • **Tax and Compliance Coordination:**
- • Monitor and track critical tax filing deadlines across the U.S., India, and UAE jurisdictions.
- • Coordinate effectively with external tax advisors and accounting firms to ensure timely and accurate tax filings.
- • Gather and provide all necessary documentation and information required for tax return preparation.
