  • • Own the end-to-end financial control function for one of Australia’s fastest-growing clean-tech scale-ups, directly influencing how Smart Energy decarbonises Australian homes and scales nationally.
  • • Partner with the CFO and executive team to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights that steer strategic decisions, capital allocation, and M&A opportunities.
  • • Ensure 100 % compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, ATO regulations, ASIC reporting, and corporate governance frameworks across a multi-entity group structure.

  • • Mentor and upskill a high-performing finance team, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, commercial curiosity, and customer-centric service delivery.
  • • Act as the go-to finance business partner for Sales, Marketing, and Operations, translating commercial objectives into robust financial models, budgets, and KPIs.
  • • Build scalable policies and procedures that support 100 %+ year-on-year growth without adding proportional head-count or complexity.
  • • Present monthly results packs to the CFO and Directors, spotlighting variances, trends, and forward-looking risks/opportunities in plain English.
  • • Evaluate and implement new tech stacks—Xero, Salesforce, Power BI, AI forecasting tools—to future-proof finance capability and deliver real-time insights.
  • • Foster a fun, high-energy team culture that celebrates wins, encourages innovation, and aligns every finance initiative with Smart Energy’s mission to create a cleaner planet.
