- • As the Finance Systems Manager at n8n GmbH, you will be instrumental in shaping and scaling the financial infrastructure of a rapidly growing, AI-native company. Your primary mission is to design, own, and optimize finance-specific systems and workflows, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, the efficiency of operations, and the sustainability of our growth trajectory. This pivotal role involves taking comprehensive ownership of the entire finance systems landscape, acting as the central driving force behind finance tooling and integrations, and fostering close collaboration with our central Automation and Data teams to prevent redundancy and maintain a streamlined operational environment.
- • You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of finance-specific systems, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), billing, accounts payable (AP), and financial planning and analysis (FP&A) tools. This encompasses their configuration, ongoing administration, the development and maintenance of critical integrations, and the continuous pursuit of improvements to enhance performance and usability. A key aspect of your role will be to lead the entire lifecycle of finance tooling selection and implementation, from meticulously defining requirements and evaluating potential solutions to overseeing the rollout and driving user adoption across the finance department.
- • Establishing robust governance, comprehensive documentation, and effective change management practices will be paramount. These practices must align seamlessly with the company-wide principles and established processes, ensuring consistency and compliance across all financial operations. You will also drive finance-owned automation and integrations, taking full ownership of finance automation use cases from initial discovery and scoping through to prioritization and successful delivery. For simpler use cases, you may implement them directly, while for more complex scenarios, you will partner closely with the dedicated Automation team.
- • Acting as the primary liaison between the Finance department and the Automation team, you will be adept at translating complex finance requirements into clear, actionable technical inputs. Your contribution to integration design decisions will be crucial in ensuring that finance systems integrate smoothly into the broader company tooling ecosystem, thereby avoiding the creation of parallel automation or ownership structures that could lead to inefficiencies.
- • You will own the critical area of finance reporting requirements and the system enablement necessary to meet them. This involves ensuring that finance systems are meticulously configured to accurately measure and report on core financial metrics. Your ability to translate detailed finance and accounting requirements into precise system logic, configuration settings, and reporting structures will be essential for providing timely and accurate financial insights.
- • Partnering closely with Analytics Engineering and the central Data team, you will support the development of shared finance data models where necessary. However, you will retain ultimate accountability for finance-specific definitions and the correctness of the data. A significant objective will be to transition finance reporting away from manual, spreadsheet-driven processes towards automated dashboards and reports, leveraging tools such as SQL and Business Intelligence (BI) platforms.
- • This role demands strong cross-functional project leadership. You will be expected to effectively scope work, prioritize tasks based on business impact, and coordinate efforts with stakeholders across Automation, Data, and other departments to achieve desired outcomes. Your translation skills will be vital in bridging the gap between finance needs and technical solutions, ensuring clear communication and successful implementation of system configurations, integration requirements, and reporting logic.
- • By taking on this role, you will not merely maintain existing systems; you will actively define the future of finance automation within a modern, AI-native organization. You will occupy a foundational position with significant visibility and autonomy, playing a key part in evolving n8n's financial operations beyond traditional methods into scalable, automated processes that effectively support our rapid growth. You will collaborate extensively with Finance, Data, IT, and Operations teams in a remote-first environment that champions autonomy, experimentation, and tangible impact. This is an opportunity to build the future of finance automation at n8n.
