  • • Join Kota, a rapidly growing insurtech company that is revolutionizing insurance and retirement benefits for the modern workforce. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to play a crucial role in supporting our day-to-day financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, and contributing to our robust month-end close processes. This is a hands-on position within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, offering unparalleled exposure to all facets of finance and significant opportunities to shape and enhance financial processes as the company continues its impressive growth trajectory.
  • • As a Financial Accountant at Kota, you will be instrumental in maintaining the general ledger, ensuring its accuracy and timeliness. Your responsibilities will include the preparation of essential monthly management accounts, which involves meticulously processing journals, performing critical reconciliations, and accurately accounting for accruals and prepayments. You will be tasked with ensuring a smooth and efficient month-end close process, a cornerstone of reliable financial reporting.
  • • A key aspect of this role involves the preparation and thorough investigation of balance sheet reconciliations. You will be expected to identify, analyze, and resolve any variances, ensuring that our balance sheet accurately reflects the company's financial position. Furthermore, you will provide vital support for our budgeting, forecasting, and broader financial analysis activities, contributing valuable insights that inform strategic decision-making.
  • • In the realm of statutory compliance and audit, you will assist in the preparation of annual statutory financial statements, ensuring adherence to all relevant accounting standards and regulations. You will be a key point of contact for our external auditors, coordinating the timely delivery of audit deliverables and facilitating a smooth audit process. A significant responsibility will be ensuring our compliance with Irish and UK tax obligations, including VAT and payroll taxes, working closely with external advisors to maintain accuracy and mitigate risk.
  • • Your role will also encompass overseeing critical financial operations. This includes managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices, staff expenses, and credit card reconciliations. You will support the preparation and review of payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Additionally, you will contribute to treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting and banking administration, providing a comprehensive understanding of the company's liquidity.
  • • A crucial element of this position is contributing to process improvement and strengthening internal controls. You will actively participate in the design and implementation of scalable finance processes and robust internal controls that can support our rapid growth. This includes contributing to the documentation of essential finance policies and procedures, creating a clear and consistent operational framework. You will also have the opportunity to participate in finance system upgrades and automation projects, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance function.
  • • We are looking for an individual who possesses a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, coupled with strong organizational skills, enabling them to manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup setting is paramount. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be collaborating with various teams across the organization. A proactive, curious mindset, with a genuine eagerness to identify and implement process improvements, is highly valued. The capacity to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and drive them to completion is also a key attribute we seek.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a mission-driven company that is making a real impact in the employee benefits space. You will work alongside a talented and passionate team, contributing directly to the financial health and operational efficiency of Kota. If you are a qualified or part-qualified accountant looking for a challenging and rewarding role where you can make a significant contribution and grow your career, we encourage you to apply.
