- • The Financial Examiner will perform financial examinations and regulatory consulting services for state insurance departments, playing a critical role in ensuring the solvency and compliance of insurance companies.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting risk-focused financial examinations, reviewing work papers, preparing detailed reports on company solvency and regulatory compliance, analyzing financial statements and regulatory changes, and recommending corrective actions to protect company solvency.
- • The role is part of Risk & Regulatory Consulting, LLC (RRC), an affiliate of RSM US LLP, a leading provider of professional services to the middle market with a focus on regulatory insurance services and a commitment to empowering clients and people to realize their full potential.
- • The position offers significant opportunity for advancement, personal and professional growth, and the chance to deepen expertise in insurance regulation, financial analysis, auditing principles, and regulatory interpretation while working remotely from any U.S. location.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or professional certification/s preferred
- • Minimum 10+ years experience as an accountant, auditor or examiner with a state insurance department, public accounting firm, or as an examiner of insurance companies
- • Insurance industry experience is a must
- • Certified Financial Examiner (CFE) or CFE Candidate, CPA or CPA candidate, and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or CIA Candidate a plus
- • PC skills including proficiency in TeamMate, ACL/Access, MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- • Strong interpersonal, presentation, analytical, and examination/audit skills with excellent organizational and time management abilities
