📋 Description

• • Be the first line of defense against financial crime at MoonPay. As our FIU Transaction Monitoring Analyst for Australia, you will own the end-to-end review of high-risk crypto and fiat transactions, using cutting-edge blockchain analytics and traditional AML tools to protect 30 million customers and 500+ enterprise partners from money-laundering, terrorist-financing and sanctions evasion.
• • Own daily alert triage and deep-dive investigations. You will independently load, enrich and analyse thousands of alerts generated by our transaction-monitoring rules, blockchain-tracing engines and wallet-screening solutions (Chainalysis, TRM, Elliptic, CipherTrace, Scorechain). Every alert you close or escalate directly influences the integrity of the global crypto economy.
• • Connect on-chain footprints to real-world risk. You will trace funds across Bitcoin, Ethereum and 100+ additional chains, correlate wallet clusters with open-source intelligence, court filings and adverse-media databases, and build concise evidence packs that demonstrate how seemingly innocuous flows may hide layering, structuring or sanctions-breach schemes.
• • Draft and file Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) that meet AUSTRAC’s strict formatting and evidentiary standards. You will distil complex multi-jurisdictional investigations into clear, defensible narratives, ensuring every SMR is submitted within regulatory time-frames and is ready for supervisory challenge.
• • Continuously improve our detection logic. By feeding investigation outcomes back into rule-tuning sessions, you will help data scientists refine thresholds, add typologies and reduce false positives, directly shrinking the alert backlog and freeing the team to focus on genuine threats.
• • Collaborate across borders and functions. You will brief the Senior FIU Manager, Team Lead and Heads of Compliance in the US, UK, EU and Canada, translating technical blockchain concepts into business risk language. Your insights will shape policy updates, product road-maps and customer-risk scoring models.
• • Champion a culture of compliance excellence. Whether mentoring junior analysts, presenting typology trends in town-halls or contributing to cross-functional Kaizen sprints, you will embody MoonPay’s values of curiosity, ownership and continuous improvement, ensuring that “doing the right thing” scales as fast as our user base.
