- • Fluidstack is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fixed Asset Accounting Lead to spearhead and scale our critical fixed asset function. This pivotal role is designed for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is passionate about building robust financial processes. As Fluidstack expands its global data center infrastructure, the Fixed Asset Accounting Lead will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our asset management. This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of a company fueling artificial superintelligence, contributing directly to our IPO readiness journey and shaping the financial foundation of a rapidly evolving enterprise.
- • In this senior individual contributor and potential people manager role, you will be entrusted with the comprehensive oversight of the entire fixed asset lifecycle. This includes the meticulous development and implementation of capitalization policies, diligent tracking of Construction in Progress (CIP), precise calculation of depreciation, accurate recording of disposals, and thorough assessment of asset impairments. Your responsibilities will span a diverse and expanding portfolio encompassing GPU servers, sophisticated networking equipment, and extensive data center buildouts. You will be the go-to expert for all fixed asset-related matters, ensuring that our asset records are not only meticulously maintained but also consistently audit-ready and fully compliant with both US GAAP and IFRS requirements. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks associated with asset management, ensuring that financial reporting accurately reflects the company's significant investments in infrastructure.
- • A key aspect of this role involves deep collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will work closely with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to ensure alignment between asset accounting and financial projections, with the Tax department to ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations pertaining to fixed assets, and with Engineering and Operations teams to gain a thorough understanding of asset acquisitions, movements, and retirements. This collaborative approach is essential for maintaining data integrity and providing accurate financial insights that support strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with these internal stakeholders, fostering an environment of open communication and shared accountability for asset data accuracy.
- • Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our fixed asset subledger system, likely NetSuite or a similar robust ERP. This includes ensuring seamless integration with the general ledger, performing regular reconciliations, and implementing best practices for data management and control. Your expertise in month-end close processes will be crucial, as you will be expected to independently own and execute the fixed asset close, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. This autonomy requires a strong sense of ownership and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively under tight deadlines. The successful candidate will also play a significant role in developing and refining fixed asset policies and procedures, potentially building them from the ground up to support Fluidstack's rapid growth and evolving operational landscape.
- • This role is more than just accounting; it's about building a world-class fixed asset function that supports Fluidstack's ambitious growth trajectory. You will have the opportunity to implement innovative solutions, streamline processes, and contribute to the overall financial health and integrity of the company. As we progress towards an IPO, your work will be directly visible and critical to demonstrating robust financial controls and accurate asset valuation to potential investors and regulatory bodies. This is a chance to make a lasting impact on a company at the cutting edge of technological advancement, ensuring that our financial infrastructure is as advanced and reliable as our AI compute solutions.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical understanding of accounting principles related to Property, Plant & Equipment (ASC 360), including nuanced judgments on capitalization versus expensing, the intricacies of CIP accounting, and the application of various depreciation methodologies. Experience in a high-growth technology, data center, or other capital-intensive industry is highly valued, as it indicates a familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities presented by such environments. This role is perfect for a seasoned accounting professional looking to take on significant responsibility and drive meaningful change within a dynamic and forward-thinking organization. You will be a key player in establishing the financial infrastructure necessary for Fluidstack's continued success and expansion into new markets and technological frontiers.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of fixed asset or property accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior manager capacity.
- • Deep technical knowledge of ASC 360 (Property, Plant & Equipment), capitalization vs. expensing judgments, CIP accounting, and depreciation methodologies.
- • Experience managing fixed asset subledgers at scale (NetSuite or similar ERP), including reconciliation to the general ledger.
- • Strong understanding of month-end close processes and the ability to own the fixed asset close independently.
- • Experience working in a high-growth technology, data center, or capital-intensive industry.
- • CPA license or equivalent professional accounting qualification (Preferred).
- • Exposure to PCAOB audit environments and S-1 / IPO readiness processes (Preferred).
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive total compensation package (salary + equity).
- • Retirement or pension plan, in line with local norms.
- • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- • Generous PTO policy, in line with local norms.
