- • Examine chains of title for residential properties, with potential expansion to commercial and industrial properties, to determine legal condition and ownership status
- • Perform complex title examinations requiring advanced expertise, analyzing recorded documents such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, plat books, and map books
- • Abstract and interpret legal descriptions to verify property boundaries, ownership rights, and completeness of public records
- • Write title products based on interpretation and application of company procedural guidelines and underwriting standards
- • Provide underwriting interpretation within established company and state-specific guidelines
- • Mentor and guide less experienced title examiners, sharing knowledge and best practices to support team development
- • Act as a subject matter resource for complex title issues and state-specific requirements, particularly in Florida
- • Maintain accurate records and summaries of title-related documents and transactions
- • May interact directly with customers to provide clarification or gather additional information
- • Utilize industry-specific systems, tools, and applications to conduct examinations and produce title reports
- • Ensure high accuracy and quality in all title examination outputs, adhering to strict compliance and regulatory standards
- • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve title defects, inconsistencies, or ambiguities in public records
- • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to document findings, prepare reports, and communicate results
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Florida-specific title laws, regulations, and recording practices
- • Operate independently on varied and complex assignments while meeting deadlines and quality expectations
- • Contribute to team efficiency by identifying process improvements and sharing insights gained from experience
- • Adhere to company policies and ethical standards in all aspects of title examination work
- • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs of the title examination team
🎯 Requirements
- • High School Diploma or equivalent
- • 5+ years of title examination experience with demonstrated mastery of skills and resources
- • Florida Title Examination experience required
- • Multiple state licenses (as required by state) to conduct business across broad geographic areas
- • Strong knowledge of legal terms used in title documents and ability to read and decipher legal descriptions
- • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills
