• As a Forward Deployed Engineer at HappyRobot, you will be at the forefront of our customer engagements, acting as a crucial bridge between our cutting-edge AI platform and the enterprises that rely on it. This role is not about hierarchy; it's about collective ownership and execution. You will be empowered to take on diverse challenges, from initial customer onboarding and deep technical implementation to ongoing optimization and the development of innovative new features.
• Your primary responsibility will be to ensure our customers derive maximum value from HappyRobot's AI solutions. This involves working hand-in-hand with them to understand their unique operational challenges, particularly within complex supply chain and industrial-scale environments. You will guide them through the integration process, troubleshoot technical hurdles, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance their use of our platform.
• A significant part of your role will involve hands-on technical development. You will be instrumental in building new features, Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), and scalable solutions that directly address customer needs and drive tangible business outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to product innovation by translating real-world customer feedback into actionable development tasks.
• We leverage a modern, robust tech stack, and you will be expected to contribute across the full stack. Proficiency in React and TypeScript for front-end development, coupled with Node.js for back-end services, will be essential. You will build and maintain applications and tools that are critical to our customers' operations and our platform's functionality.
• A core component of HappyRobot's offering is its advanced AI and Machine Learning capabilities. You will have the chance to design, implement, and iterate on these AI/ML solutions. This includes advanced LLM prompting techniques, fine-tuning AI models for specific use cases, and integrating various AI components like specialized voices and transcribers to optimize performance and user experience.
• Seamless integration with existing enterprise systems is paramount. You will be responsible for managing APIs and orchestrating integrations with third-party systems, ensuring that HappyRobot's AI OS works harmoniously within our customers' existing technology landscapes. This requires a deep understanding of API design and implementation.
• Collaboration is key to our success. You will work closely with our Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams. This cross-functional partnership will allow you to gain a holistic understanding of our product roadmap, technical challenges, and customer needs, enabling you to deliver truly tailored and effective solutions.
• The nature of our work demands continuous improvement. You will be expected to iteratively refine and enhance our AI solutions based on direct customer feedback, performance metrics, and evolving business requirements. This feedback loop is critical for maintaining our competitive edge and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will also be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously. This requires strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize effectively under pressure, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results within tight deadlines. 🎯 Requirements

• Strong full-stack development experience with proficiency in React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML applications, including practical knowledge of LLM prompting and model tuning.
• Proven ability to manage APIs and integrate with diverse third-party systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks effectively, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
