- • As a Forward Deployed Engineer at LiveKit, you will serve as the critical technical bridge between the company’s cutting-edge real-time communication platform and its enterprise customers, ensuring seamless adoption and scaling of voice AI and real-time media applications. Your work directly impacts how developers build, deploy, and observe production-grade systems using LiveKit’s infrastructure, making you instrumental in accelerating customer success and shaping the platform’s evolution through real-world feedback.
- • You will partner closely with customer engineering teams to design, prototype, and implement scalable real-time applications using LiveKit’s SDKs and APIs, translating complex business needs into technical architectures that support voice AI, video conferencing, and interactive media use cases at scale.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include debugging production issues in customer environments, building reference implementations and sample applications to accelerate development, leading technical workshops and architecture sessions, and contributing improvements to LiveKit’s open-source ecosystem based on field insights.
- • You will act as a trusted advisor, guiding customers through SDK integration, deployment strategies, observability tooling, and scalability best practices while surfacing product and platform improvements to internal Engineering and Product teams.

🎯 Requirements
- • Strong engineering background with 5+ years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering.
- • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, Node, Rust, or C++.
- • Experience building or integrating developer platforms, real-time systems, or working with APIs, SDKs, and cloud infrastructure.
- • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with comfort working directly with customer and internal engineering teams in fast-paced, low-process environments.
