📋 Description

• Embed directly within strategic customer accounts to understand their security environments, workflows, and pain points through on-site or remote customer immersion.
• Follow the FDE engagement loop: Discover, Ideate, Document, Build, Ship — moving from problem identification to delivering working solutions with a bias toward action.
• Build custom automations, integrations, AI-assisted workflows, data pipelines, and security tooling extensions tailored to specific customer needs that off-the-shelf tools cannot address.
• Apply combined expertise in AI, data, and cybersecurity to solve complex, unique security challenges encountered during customer engagements.
• Document all solutions thoroughly to enable review, refinement, and eventual platform-wide adoption across TENEX’s customer base.
• Identify and surface new problem areas, data gaps, and intelligence opportunities from customer environments to feed into the AI & Data Science team for platform development.
• Collaborate closely with the AI & Data Science function to translate real-world customer needs into model improvements, feature enhancements, and data pipeline requirements.
• Maintain strong, trusted relationships with customer technical stakeholders throughout the duration of engagements.
• Manage multiple active customer accounts concurrently while maintaining high-quality output and deep focus on each engagement.
• Escalate blockers, technical risks, or account-specific concerns to Director or Staff-level engineers when necessary to ensure resolution and continuity.
• Rapidly prototype and ship functional solutions in ambiguous, fast-changing environments with minimal supervision.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable communication for both technical and non-technical customer stakeholders.
• Contribute to the evolution of TENEX’s Forward Deployed Engineering practice by sharing insights, refining processes, and improving documentation standards.
• Operate as a bridge between customer-facing needs and internal product development, ensuring customer feedback directly shapes the platform’s evolution.
• Work within an AI-native, automation-first MDR platform to deliver solutions that enhance threat detection, response, and continuous protection for enterprise clients.
• Participate in a culture that prioritizes in-person collaboration and community, as emphasized in TENEX’s culture deck and operational philosophy.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years in software engineering, security engineering, or a technical customer-facing role
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or another general-purpose language (Go, TypeScript, etc.)
• Experience working directly with customers to solve complex technical problems
• Familiarity with AI/ML tooling, data pipelines, or data engineering concepts
• Knowledge of security operations, SIEM/SOAR, cloud security, or endpoint security
• Ability to rapidly prototype and ship working solutions in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
