📋 Description

• Forward Deployed Engineer at OpenAI partners with strategic customers to turn AI research breakthroughs into production systems, operating at the intersection of customer delivery and core platform development.
• Day to day, you will own technical delivery across multiple deployments from prototype to stable production, build full-stack systems, embed with customer teams to understand needs and guide adoption, scope and sequence delivery, remove blockers, make trade-offs between scope/speed/quality, contribute directly to code when needed, codify working patterns into reusable tools, share field feedback with Product and Research teams, and keep teams moving through clarity and follow-through.
• The Forward Deployed Engineering team works closely with Product, Research, Partnerships, GRC, Security, and GTM teams to ensure deployments drive measurable workflow impact and inform model roadmaps through eval-driven feedback.
• In this role, you will learn how to bridge cutting-edge AI research with real-world customer impact, deepen expertise in deploying LLMs in production, sharpen cross-functional collaboration skills, and contribute to shaping both product and model evolution based on field insights.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering or technical deployment experience including customer-facing work
• Experience scoping and delivering complex systems in fast-moving or ambiguous environments
• Ability to write and review production-grade code across frontend and backend using Python, JavaScript, or comparable stacks
