- • As a Founding AI Engineer at Paradox Machines, you will be instrumental in building the core AI-powered applications and data infrastructure that drive the company's product offerings, including automated reporting, intelligent data pipelines, and AI layers on operational systems.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing and maintaining data infrastructure (ingestion pipelines, data models, transformation layers, orchestration using tools like dbt, Airflow, Spark), building production-grade AI applications with LLMs (prompt engineering, RAG, agent frameworks), architecting accountable agent systems with evaluation and monitoring, owning end-to-end deployment (Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure), and creating reusable internal tools and shared assets across engagements.
- • You will work directly with the CEO and a small, senior team at a venture-backed, AI-native company based in New York but operating remotely, where rapid iteration, real customer feedback, and ownership of impact are central to the culture.
- • This role offers the opportunity to grow alongside the company as a foundational builder, shaping the platform’s direction, gaining deep ownership of complex systems, and advancing your expertise in production AI and data engineering at scale.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5-8 years of software engineering experience with meaningful involvement in building data systems or AI-driven applications in production
- • Hands-on experience with modern data engineering practices including pipeline orchestration, data modeling, transformation frameworks, and cloud infrastructure
- • Experience deploying and operating production systems using Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
- • Proven experience building with LLMs in production, including prompt engineering, RAG, agent frameworks, and evaluation pipelines
- • Ability to design agentic workflows where AI performs meaningful work while maintaining system-level accountability
- • Strong bias for action — comfortable writing queries, sketching schemas, or building prototypes to move projects forward
- • Genuine curiosity about AI’s future paired with the technical discipline to build responsibly and reliably
