• • As a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer at Ascertain, you will occupy a pivotal position at the nexus of product development, engineering execution, and the practical realities of customer operations. Healthcare organizations are notoriously complex, often relying on intricate, fragmented systems including payer portals, legacy practice management systems, extensive spreadsheets, and deeply entrenched, often inefficient, workflows. Your primary responsibility will be to deeply understand this complex operational landscape and leverage that insight to shape Ascertain’s product, ensuring it is not only theoretically sound but also practically effective in real-world scenarios.
• • This role demands a proactive and hands-on approach. You will engage directly with customers to meticulously translate their unique workflows and specific edge cases into robust, production-grade solutions. This will involve a combination of integrating disparate systems, extending existing workflows to accommodate specific needs, and developing new features that address identified gaps. Crucially, you will be instrumental in identifying recurring patterns and challenges across different customer implementations. This valuable intelligence will be fed back into the core product development cycle, enabling us to solve problems comprehensively and ensure scalability, thereby maximizing the impact of our engineering efforts.
• • This is a unique opportunity to be a founding member of our Forward Deployed Engineering team. You will play an integral role in defining the operational playbook for this function, establishing best practices, and setting the standard for future hires. The role offers clear pathways for professional growth, including opportunities to advance into pod leadership and, over time, people management, should that align with your career aspirations. This position is based remotely within the United States. While remote work is the standard, the role necessitates close collaboration with the product team and occasional customer site visits, estimated at approximately 10–20% of your time, to ensure a deep understanding of on-the-ground operations. The role reports directly to the Chief Product Officer, providing a direct line of communication and influence within the senior leadership team.
