📋 Description

• As a Founding Software Engineer at Nestmed, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical foundation of an AI-powered healthcare documentation platform that is already transforming clinician workflows across the United States. With tens of thousands of clinicians using the platform to support over a million patient visits annually, your work will directly contribute to reducing administrative burden and giving healthcare professionals more time for patient care—addressing a critical pain point in a $500B industry.
• You will own end-to-end development of core product features including the voice agent for in-visit documentation, coding agent workflows, dynamic visit guides with real-time prompting, and customer-editable documentation behavior rules. This full-stack ownership spans API design, backend systems, and intuitive frontend interfaces, requiring you to move fluidly between layers of the technology stack to deliver seamless, clinician-centric experiences.
• Nestmed’s engineering team is composed of elite talent from Stanford, YC, Google, and Meta, backed by the founders of PayPal and Plaid, creating a high-impact environment where your technical decisions will influence both immediate product direction and long-term architectural scalability. You’ll collaborate closely with the CEO and CTO, gaining unparalleled insight into startup leadership and product strategy while helping establish engineering culture and best practices from the ground up.
• In your first year, you will drive measurable impact by scaling the platform to meet growing enterprise demand, targeting 20%+ productivity gains for clients through efficient, real-time documentation processing. You’ll ship complete user-facing features autonomously, implement resilient infrastructure for low-latency AI interactions, and establish engineering standards that enable rapid, safe iteration as the team expands.

🎯 Requirements

• Senior-level experience in full-stack engineering with proven ability to own user-facing features from backend to frontend
• Demonstrated experience scaling platforms in high-growth environments, particularly in B2B SaaS or regulated industries
• Strong expertise in database modeling, API design, and systems architecture, with comfort navigating ambiguity to turn product ideas into shipped features
