  • • This is a remote, contract-based engagement, ideally suited for individuals based in Japan, requiring native-level Japanese proficiency and professional fluency in English.
  • • Our agency specializes in a creator-powered media approach, seamlessly integrating influencer marketing, user-generated content (UGC), and paid media to deliver impactful strategies, creative assets, and distribution for performance-driven brands.
  • • We are partnering with a leading premium health and wellness wearable technology brand to develop and scale performance creative campaigns across paid social channels, aiming to achieve measurable results.
  • • As this brand expands its reach into the Japanese market, we require a dedicated specialist to act as a crucial bridge, translating English campaign briefs into compelling, culturally resonant Japanese copy that captivates the target audience.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess an exceptional talent for crafting B2C copy specifically for performance creative campaigns, demonstrating a keen understanding of conversion-oriented messaging.
  • • Your primary responsibilities will involve both the accurate translation and nuanced localisation of existing English-language campaign materials, as well as the creative ideation and original copywriting of new Japanese-language content based on provided English briefs.
  • • TRANSLATION & LOCALISATION:
  • • You will be tasked with accurately translating established campaign briefs, including detailed shot lists, engaging scripts, compelling calls-to-action (CTAs), and effective hook variations, from English into Japanese.
  • • Beyond mere direct translation, your role will encompass deep localisation, adapting the tone, incorporating relevant cultural references, utilizing appropriate idioms, and understanding the underlying consumer psychology specific to Japanese audiences.
  • • A critical aspect of your work will be ensuring unwavering adherence to brand voice guidelines across all localised assets, meticulously maintaining specific product naming conventions and respecting any terminology restrictions.
  • • You will also be responsible for reviewing and quality assuring all Japanese-language creative assets to guarantee accuracy, natural phrasing, and complete cultural appropriateness for the target market.
  • • ORIGINAL COPYWRITING:
  • • You will actively ideate and write new Japanese-language performance creative copy, encompassing hooks, body scripts, and CTAs, drawing inspiration from English-language campaign briefs and the overarching strategic direction.
  • • Your copywriting efforts will focus on developing compelling, conversion-oriented content tailored for short-form video advertisements, including UGC-style content, influencer-led campaigns, and direct-response formats.
  • • A key part of this role involves developing multiple hook variations and A/B testing copy options to facilitate scalable creative testing and optimize campaign performance.
  • • You will adapt messaging frameworks and value propositions to resonate deeply with the Japanese consumer mindset, ensuring that the core intent of the original campaign is preserved and amplified.

  • • You will collaborate closely with our creative strategy and production teams, ensuring that all localised content seamlessly aligns with campaign objectives and performance goals.
  • • Your expertise will be invaluable in providing cultural consulting and offering feedback on visual direction, talent selection, and overall creative concepts specifically for the Japanese market.
  • • Timely delivery of work within established timelines and feedback cycles is essential, requiring effective management of multiple briefs concurrently.
  • • Proactive and clear communication in English with the wider, internationally distributed team is expected, while all consumer-facing copy will be delivered in native Japanese.
