📋 Description

• Senior Front End Engineer responsible for owning and elevating the interfaces that thousands of developers interact with daily, including the editor, docs experience, and interactive surfaces that define ReadMe’s developer hubs.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include building amazing user experiences for new features, re-imagining existing features, collaborating closely with design and backend teams, and shipping production-quality frontend applications with a focus on performance, polish, and accessibility.
• ReadMe is a small, mission-driven team (and one owl) helping over 5,000 startups and tech companies create beautiful, personalized developer hubs — backed by Accel and committed to an open, caring, and whimsical culture as they scale.
• In this role, you’ll grow from shipping UI improvements in your first month to owning major frontend projects end-to-end within a few months, and ultimately helping define the direction of ReadMe’s front-end tooling and shaping how modern APIs are designed and consumed by developers worldwide.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience building and shipping production frontend applications with deep fluency in React and TypeScript
• Track record of owning complex UI: adept at creating functional UIs that work well, not just assembling components from design specs
• Comfort working across the stack: able to collaborate effectively with backend and infrastructure engineers
• User-first mindset: cares about how something feels to use, holds a high bar for polish and accessibility
