- • Build responsive, high-performance frontend interfaces that enable developers and small teams to manage production Kubernetes clusters with intuitive, powerful controls.
- • Prototype and iterate on novel interaction patterns for infrastructure management, testing assumptions quickly and incorporating real user feedback into design decisions.
- • Establish foundational frontend architecture patterns and engineering practices as an early member of the engineering team.
- • Collaborate closely with backend engineers to integrate and surface real-time infrastructure state from APIs and backend services into the UI.
- • Implement UI animations and data visualizations that translate complex distributed systems concepts into clear, actionable insights for users.
- • Design and develop interfaces that function seamlessly for both individual developers and small teams operating in production environments.
- • Contribute to the evolution of the product’s user experience by translating abstract infrastructure concepts into tangible, navigable interfaces.
- • Work with real-time data streams to reflect live cluster states, ensuring the UI remains accurate and responsive under dynamic conditions.
- • Participate in shaping the product’s direction by influencing frontend design decisions that impact how users interact with distributed systems.
- • Ensure robust frontend testing practices are implemented, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, with automation to maintain quality at scale.
- • Contribute to backend code in at least one backend language to better understand system constraints and improve frontend-backend alignment.
- • Apply familiarity with observability tools like Grafana to inform UI design for monitoring and diagnostics within the infrastructure management interface.
- • Leverage experience with GitOps workflows and infrastructure-as-code tooling to build interfaces that align with modern DevOps practices.
- • Design and implement complex state management systems that accurately model real-world distributed infrastructure behaviors in the frontend.
- • Deliver UI animations and visualizations that enhance usability without compromising performance or clarity.
- • Maintain a strong focus on accessibility, performance, and scalability in all frontend components.
- • Work fully on-site in San Francisco, collaborating in person with the engineering team to drive product innovation and technical alignment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Demonstrated experience defining and establishing frontend architecture.
- • 2+ years of software development experience.
- • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
- • Experience working with APIs and backend services.
- • Background in systems programming or distributed systems.

- • Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 USD annually.
