Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the cluster management user interface, including provisioning flows, natural language interfaces, and real-time proactive system insights for a Kubernetes-based OS-like platform.
- • Design and build visualization systems that make distributed system state legible at a glance, translating complex cluster data into clear, actionable user experiences.
- • Surface the right information by integrating with Kubernetes APIs, GitOps controllers, and gRPC/cRPC backends to power frontend interactions.
- • Build real-time reactive UIs using Convex that scale seamlessly from single-user environments to large engineering teams.
- • Prototype new interaction patterns for infrastructure management, rapidly test assumptions, and iterate based on direct user feedback.
- • Collaborate with backend and platform engineering teams to design elegant, scalable protocols between frontend and system-level components.
- • Establish and champion frontend architecture patterns, code quality standards, and maintainable development practices as an early engineering team member.
- • Write clean, well-structured frontend code using React, Next.js, Tailwind, and shadcn/ui to deliver a production-grade user interface.
- • Work with complex state management systems that accurately reflect real-world infrastructure dynamics and cluster health.
- • Contribute to the end-to-end development of developer tools and infrastructure products used by both individual tinkerers and production engineering teams.
- • Ensure the frontend consistently reflects the state of Kubernetes clusters through integration with CRDs, operators, etcd backup/restore workflows, and cluster health monitoring systems.
- • Implement observability-driven UI features using Prometheus and Grafana to surface performance metrics and system anomalies in real time.
- • Apply GitOps principles with ArgoCD to enable declarative, continuous deployment workflows within the frontend interface.
- • Leverage Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform and Helm to support provisioning and configuration workflows exposed through the UI.
- • Maintain a strong focus on usability, performance, and reliability in all frontend components, ensuring the platform remains approachable for diverse user types.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong frontend fundamentals with a track record shipping user-facing infrastructure or developer tools.
- • End-to-end experience building Next.js applications using React, Tailwind, and shadcn/ui.
- • Experience or familiarity with Convex for real-time/reactive UI patterns.
- • Production Kubernetes experience — internals, CRDs, operators, cluster architecture, etcd backup/restore, and troubleshooting cluster health.
- • Infrastructure as Code proficiency with Terraform and Helm.
- • Deep GitOps experience with ArgoCD and declarative infrastructure/continuous deployment patterns.
- • Proficiency with observability tooling — Prometheus and Grafana for surfacing cluster health and performance.
- • Comfortable working with complex state management that reflects real-world infrastructure.
- • 5+ years working in production Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
- • Strong Go skills for building system-level tooling, controllers, and distributed systems components.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
- • Early-team equity opportunity at a venture-backed infrastructure startup.
