• • We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Frontend Platform Architect to spearhead the design and development of our next-generation frontend platform. This pivotal role will define the architectural blueprints, foundational components (primitives), and essential guardrails that empower both human engineers and future AI agents to create, manage, and evolve user interfaces and applications with unprecedented speed and safety. The ultimate objective is to achieve autonomous evolution of applications, mirroring the self-constructing nature of our advanced AI systems.
• • As the Frontend Platform Architect, your primary responsibility will be to construct a robust and scalable frontend platform. This platform will serve as the bedrock for building and deploying a diverse range of applications, ensuring they can be developed and iterated upon rapidly while adhering to stringent enterprise-grade standards for control, consistency, and governance. You will be instrumental in enabling our forward-deployed and research teams to push the boundaries of what's possible with AI-driven applications.
• • A key aspect of this role involves close collaboration with our research engineers who are developing novel AI capabilities, as well as with our forward-deployed teams who are integrating these systems into complex, real-world operational environments. You will translate their needs and insights into architectural decisions and platform features.
• • You will be tasked with designing frontend primitives and platform infrastructure that foster rapid experimentation. This includes enabling teams to quickly test new workflows, interfaces, and AI functionalities without compromising the stability, coherence, and long-term maintainability of the broader platform. This requires a deep understanding of how to balance innovation with robust engineering practices.
• • Furthermore, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the critical frontend platform guardrails and standards. This involves defining the architectural patterns, shared primitives, and platform conventions that will guide application development across all of Distyl. Your work will ensure a consistent and high-quality user experience and development process throughout the organization.
• • Your architectural design responsibilities will encompass owning the component systems and UI primitives, defining application architecture and integration patterns, establishing frontend infrastructure and build systems, and developing essential developer tooling and testing frameworks. This holistic approach ensures that the frontend platform is comprehensive, efficient, and future-proof.
• • This role demands a proactive approach to identifying and solving complex architectural challenges. You will be expected to step into intricate systems, diagnose underlying issues, and implement pragmatic, effective solutions that enhance performance, scalability, and developer productivity. Your ability to make high-impact technical decisions and confidently own their outcomes will be crucial for success.
