Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the technical vision for AirDNA’s entire frontend ecosystem—React, TypeScript, Next.js, and the design system that powers products trusted by investors and operators in 100+ countries.
- • Architect and evolve a scalable component library that unifies UI/UX across AirDNA’s market intelligence platform and the newly acquired Uplisting property-management suite, ensuring pixel-perfect fidelity and WCAG-compliant accessibility.
- • Lead a cross-squad “frontend guild” of 8-12 engineers; run weekly guild sessions to share patterns, debate tooling choices (React Query vs. Recoil, Vite vs. Webpack, etc.), and codify decisions in living documentation and automated lint rules.
- • Ship high-impact, customer-facing features end-to-end—from ideation with Product & Design to production deploy on AWS EKS—such as interactive map layers that render 10M short-term-rental data points in <100 ms, or dynamic-pricing dashboards that update in real time.
- • Mentor engineers at every level: pair program with juniors on hooks and performance, coach mid-level devs on testing strategies, and sponsor seniors for tech-talks at meetups and conferences.
- • Drive non-functional excellence: cut bundle sizes by 30 %, boost Lighthouse scores to 95+, and establish a culture of observability with Sentry, Datadog, and custom Web-Vitals dashboards.
- • Collaborate with Data Scientists to embed rich visualizations (D3, Mapbox, Google Maps) directly into the product, balancing eye-catching storytelling with sub-second load times.
- • Contribute to backend services (Python FastAPI, Postgres, Kubernetes) when features span the stack—e.g., adding a new GraphQL endpoint to power a React component you’re building.
- • Champion CI/CD best practices: design GitLab pipelines that run Jest, Playwright, and Chromatic in parallel, then auto-deploy to preview environments for every pull request.
- • Represent Engineering in quarterly roadmap planning; translate ambitious business goals (like launching in 20 new markets) into technical epics, effort estimates, and risk-mitigation plans.
- • Influence company-wide standards for security, privacy, and compliance—ensuring GDPR/CCPA safeguards are baked into every API call and UI form.
- • Stay ahead of the curve: prototype Next.js 14 server actions, evaluate React Server Components, and run brown-bag sessions to keep the entire org on the leading edge without falling for hype.
