Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • HighLevel is seeking a highly autonomous and versatile Full Stack Builder to join our innovative team. This unique "Team of One" role transcends traditional engineering or product management boundaries, offering an unparalleled opportunity to own a problem space end-to-end. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our AI-powered, all-in-one white-label sales & marketing platform, which currently serves over 2 million businesses globally and processes billions of API hits and message events daily. This is a chance to think like a Product Manager, execute like a Senior Engineer, and embody the impact of a Founder, all within a dynamic, remote-first environment.
- • As the Full Stack Builder, your primary responsibility will be to drive outcomes within a clearly defined problem area. This involves a comprehensive lifecycle of product development, starting with deep customer understanding and problem framing. You will conduct lightweight discovery by actively engaging with customers through calls, analyzing support tickets, reviewing analytics, and understanding win/loss insights. This foundational work will enable you to articulate sharp problem statements and establish measurable success criteria, transforming ambiguity into structured thinking and validated hypotheses. Your efforts will directly identify opportunities to enhance key business metrics such as customer activation, retention, revenue generation, and operational efficiency.
- • Following discovery, you will meticulously define product requirements, outlining Minimum Viable Product (MVP) iterations, V1, and V2 plans. This includes setting clear goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), defining what is in-scope and out-of-scope, and crafting detailed user stories with acceptance criteria. You will also anticipate edge cases and potential risks, maintaining clear decision logs and comprehensive documentation to prevent scope creep and ensure a structured development process. Your ability to translate complex needs into actionable plans will be crucial for the success of your owned problem space.
- • Beyond documentation, you will take ownership of the User Experience (UX) and overall customer journey. This involves designing intuitive user flows and information architecture, with a keen focus on critical elements like onboarding, empty states, failure states, and microcopy. You will ensure that all designed experiences align seamlessly with existing platform conventions, advocating for customer clarity and simplicity at every step. Even with limited direct design support, you are expected to ship functional, usable, and delightful interfaces that resonate with our user base.
- • On the technical front, you will architect and implement scalable full-stack solutions. This encompasses frontend development, backend services, APIs, automation frameworks, and AI workflows. Your engineering execution will focus on shipping production-grade code characterized by high reliability and maintainability. A critical aspect of this role is balancing competing demands such as latency, performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. You will also be responsible for building integrations, managing migrations, ensuring backward compatibility, and fortifying system resilience.
- • A significant component of this role involves AI-Native System Design. You will be at the forefront of building features, agents, and workflow automations powered by Large Language Models (LLMs). This includes designing robust evaluation loops and guardrails to ensure responsible AI deployment, optimizing inference costs, latency, and overall reliability. Continuous iteration based on real-world usage signals will be key to refining these AI-driven components.
- • To ensure data-informed decision-making, you will own the analytics, instrumentation, and experimentation processes for your problem space. This means defining clear KPIs for every feature, instrumenting necessary events, funnels, and telemetry, and diligently monitoring adoption, activation, engagement, and failure metrics. You will leverage these insights to drive iteration and implement lightweight experiments or A/B tests, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- • Finally, you will champion Operational Excellence. This involves enhancing system observability and monitoring capabilities, automating internal workflows to accelerate development cycles, and maintaining clean, up-to-date documentation and runbooks. A proactive approach to reducing both technical debt and UX debt will ensure the long-term health and scalability of the systems you build.
- • Success in this role will be measured by a reduced cycle time from idea to production, the delivery of robust, production-grade systems, and measurable improvements in product KPIs. You will also contribute to lower support ticket volumes and enhanced customer satisfaction, supported by clear documentation and scalable architecture. The expectation is for strong ownership and minimal oversight, reflecting your ability to operate independently and effectively.
- • This role is ideal for builders who thrive on ownership, prefer autonomy over hierarchy, and are driven by end-to-end impact. It suits engineers who possess product leadership qualities and can make sound product decisions, as well as product thinkers capable of shipping tangible, production-grade systems. If you are comfortable navigating high-ambiguity environments with minimal process and are adept at leveraging AI tools, automation, and modern development workflows to accelerate your work, this is the opportunity for you. We are particularly interested in individuals who actively use AI-assisted development to enhance speed and quality, and who are excited about rapidly moving from concept to production.
