• • Bonterra is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack Data Scientist to join our innovative team, driving the development and deployment of AI-powered solutions for the social good sector. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between cutting-edge data science research and robust, production-ready software, enabling non-profit, public-sector, and grantmaking organizations to maximize their impact.
• • As a Full Stack Data Scientist at Bonterra, you will be an integral part of our Data Science and Analytics team, embedding directly within Product teams. Your responsibilities will span the entire lifecycle of AI features, from initial concept and experimentation to full-scale production deployment and ongoing monitoring. You will be instrumental in building the AI infrastructure that powers our unique end-to-end solutions, which currently support over 20,000 customers, including more than 16,000 nonprofit organizations and over half of the Fortune 100 companies.
• • This position demands a unique blend of scientific curiosity and engineering discipline. You will engage deeply with complex problems, design and execute experiments, and translate findings into reliable, scalable, and maintainable code. • • Key responsibilities include owning the end-to-end lifecycle of predictive and generative models. This involves a deep understanding of the problem domain, meticulous solution design, innovative feature creation, rigorous proof-of-concept modeling, thorough validation, seamless deployment, and continuous performance monitoring in production environments.
• • You will leverage your expertise in SQL, dbt, and Snowflake to design, test, and deliver production-ready data pipelines and model outputs. This includes ensuring data integrity, optimizing query performance, and building robust data transformations that feed directly into model development and deployment.
• • A significant aspect of this role involves building and deploying machine learning models using Python. You will deploy these models within cloud environments, specifically utilizing AWS services such as Bedrock for generative AI capabilities, SageMaker for model training and deployment, and Lambda functions for serverless execution of model inference.
• • Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will work closely with Product Managers and Software Engineers in cross-functional, remote, and distributed teams, operating within an Agile development framework. Effective communication and a proactive approach to problem-solving will be crucial for success.
• • You will be responsible for the continuous evaluation and improvement of model performance in production. This includes establishing monitoring systems, analyzing performance drift, and implementing retraining or fine-tuning strategies to maintain optimal accuracy and relevance.
• • The role also involves setting the standard for how Data Science models are deployed, scaled, and maintained in production. This requires a strong understanding of MLOps principles, infrastructure optimization, and best practices for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of AI/ML systems.
• • You will contribute to the ethical considerations of AI development, ensuring that our models are fair, unbiased, and aligned with Bonterra's mission to create AI that breaks down barriers and empowers communities.
