Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Join an elite, ISO-certified international IT consultancy that partners with NATO ACT to solve the most complex information-systems challenges facing the public and private sectors. As a Full Stack Developer you will design, build, and deploy cutting-edge containerized applications that directly enable NATO’s strategic decision-making and operational readiness.
- • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with a balanced, cross-functional agile squad that includes Product Managers, Product Owners, UI/UX Designers, and Data Scientists. You will own the full development lifecycle—from whiteboard sketch to production release—while practicing Extreme Programming (XP), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and the 12-Factor App methodology.
- • Architect and implement RESTful APIs and resilient microservices that scale horizontally across global defense networks. Your code will power real-time dashboards, predictive analytics, and secure data pipelines that influence NATO policy and mission planning.
- • Master both sides of the stack: craft pixel-perfect, accessible front-end experiences in React or Angular, and engineer robust back-end services in Node.js, Django/Flask, or Spring Boot. Your polyglot fluency in modern JavaScript, Python, and Java will be exercised daily.
- • Model, optimize, and secure data across relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) stores. You will design schemas, write performant queries, and implement encryption strategies that meet NATO Secret classification requirements.
- • Containerize and orchestrate applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift, ensuring zero-downtime deployments across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments. You will champion Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps workflows.
- • Embrace pair programming and continuous learning. Rotate through different product domains, rapidly upskill in emerging languages and frameworks, and mentor junior engineers in clean-code practices and DevSecOps culture.
- • Build sustainable CI/CD pipelines that integrate static analysis, vulnerability scanning, and automated testing. Your pipelines will deliver iterative releases every sprint, accelerating feedback loops and reducing risk.
- • Collaborate with international stakeholders—military officers, civilian analysts, and allied partners—to translate mission requirements into elegant technical solutions. Your work will directly enhance NATO’s collective defense capabilities.
- • Enjoy the flexibility of one onsite position in historic Norfolk, VA—home to the world’s largest naval base—and one fully remote position. Both roles offer the same level of mission impact and career growth.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 4 years of hands-on full-stack development using JavaScript, Python, or Java in production environments.
- • Minimum 4 years of proven front-end expertise (React or Angular) and back-end proficiency (Node.js, Django/Flask, or Spring Boot).
- • Minimum 4 years of database design and programming experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar relational systems.
- • Demonstrated experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- • Active NATO Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one; high-level English fluency required.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Work on high-impact NATO ACT programs that shape global security strategy and advance your public-sector portfolio.
- • Choose between an engaging onsite role in Norfolk, VA—steps from the waterfront—or a fully remote arrangement with flexible hours.
- • Continuous professional development through paid certifications, conference attendance, and access to cutting-edge defense technologies.
