- • Oversee and advise on all legal and compliance requirements across WA Technology, reporting directly to the Group’s CLCO.
- • Provide practical, risk-based legal guidance on commercial, corporate, and operational matters aligned with the Group’s risk appetite.
- • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts and related legal documentation across multiple jurisdictions.
- • Develop, maintain, and update legal templates, precedents, and internal legal documentation frameworks to standardize processes.
- • Advise on key legal domains including online gaming, data protection, AML/CFT, intellectual property, IT, employment, corporate, commercial, and property law.
- • Support the development and management of the Group’s intellectual property protection and licensing strategy.
- • Manage and coordinate external legal counsel and specialist advisors to ensure efficient and cost-effective legal support.
- • Monitor global legal and regulatory developments and assess their impact on WA Technology’s operations and compliance posture.
- • Prepare legal updates, reports, and recommendations for senior management and regulatory authorities as required.
- • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures across multiple regulated markets.
- • Maintain and update the Group’s risk register in collaboration with responsible stakeholders.
- • Manage the Company’s regulatory license and software certification portfolio, including applications for new licenses and renewals.
- • Establish and oversee compliance control systems, monitoring activities, and remediation actions to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
- • Deliver compliance training programs to enhance awareness and ensure company-wide adherence to legal and regulatory obligations.
- • Liaise directly with regulators, external compliance advisors, and third-party service providers on licensing, audits, and enforcement matters.
- • Monitor regulatory trends, enforcement actions, and industry best practices to proactively advise on required operational adjustments.
- • Prepare and submit compliance reports and regulatory filings to authorities in accordance with jurisdictional requirements.
- • Apply a business-oriented, solutions-driven approach to legal and compliance challenges, balancing risk mitigation with operational efficiency.
- • Maintain advanced proficiency in Jira, Google Suite, MS Office, and Claude AI or similar AI models to streamline legal and compliance workflows.
- • Travel as required to support regional operations, regulatory engagements, and stakeholder meetings across global offices.
- • Foster a collaborative, structured, and proactive culture within the legal and compliance function to support WA Technology’s rapid growth.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 8 years’ experience as an in-house Legal Counsel within the iGaming industry (preferably B2B) or a similarly regulated environment
- • Strong knowledge of gaming, corporate, commercial, employment, IT, AML/CFT, and IP laws and regulations
- • Proven experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts with third parties
- • Experience managing regulatory licenses, certifications, and audit processes across multiple jurisdictions
- • Advanced level of spoken and written English; proficiency in other languages is a plus
- • Proficiency in Jira, Google Suite, MS Office, and Claude AI or similar AI models
